With that in mind my hunch is that Alonso would take to it like a duck to water much better that Ricciardo. Mexico may have been a one off where it worked out reasonably well for Ricciardo.

Exactly - it's not like RIC would be a huge step up but looks to be a safer bet than PER at this point. And even more importantly it lets them slide LAW into AT and start gaining experience & see if he is the possible successor to the RBR 2nd seat.

I'm pushing forward ALO, the oldest driver in the club to join RBR and if I was boss of the MK outfit he's the one I would be aiming for if it turns feet up at AM as he drives like a much younger driver with more maturity.

In the beginning of this season , it was just awesome too see ALO at the podium.

Indeed, Stroll senior boss is not liking his son being down thumbed by the board so it's being reflected on that team with a cut in upgrades and continuing bad pace on the track with DNF's through breakdowns and off track excursions and spins trying to make it quicker..

The former F1 driver Palmer jnr explains it perfectly, I like that he compared it to the '21 start where Max braked late and turned in with no one to his right as LEW and BOT were being too careful of each other, so careful that BOT was hit and spun by another car that caught up as he let LEW through.
Trouble with this one for Checo was that they all braked late and 11 car was already a guaranteed DNF.

Figures as LEW was urging from the beginning that the zeropod would be the wrong direction and in the end put pressure on Wolff to make him walk as LEW holds him personally responsible for his average performance and no wins since 2021.
