Smart move if Ferrari is willing to drop their #2 driver for a #1 of #1's. Maybe then they can actually develop the car...and also Max can show them how fast it actually is in the right hands.

On the other hand : Ferrari can't give MAX a WDC car and I fear the worst for Ferrari in 2026 with the new PU and active aero .

If Mclaren spend all the money on Max who's going to pay for all the lap dances for Brown? And where do they then get all the money to pay Rob Marshall - once another team poaches Marshall, Mclaren back to the bottom of the barrel, because without him they would be absolutely nowhere.

Agreed. Without Max, RB is a maybe 10th place finisher at best no matter who is driving it. He literally makes or breaks the team. I think he will be well worth the 100-150MM per season he gets from MB.

That's just part and parcel of that team, Charlie has put up with all the Ferrari things and is still batting. LEW will continue as normal unabated if not that happy as it's just his character and Ferrari will have to just put up with it, its them that wanted him not the other way round..

My friend, to match the Larens by Imola? MAX is going nowhere but staying at RBR. If the brake cooling is not sorted by '26 what's the point of changing if only the Larens still have this brake cooling trick.

No thanks, because in that case F1 would become a snoozefest with Verstappen embarrassing the rest of the field each race with big gaps ahead at the chequered flag.

There are 'horses' and 'horses for courses'. The 2025 McLarens are horses for courses. The RB21 cars are horses. Rumors about the 2026 RBR car development (RBPT/Ford) are worrisome: risks to be a midfielder donkey or a backmarker tractor.

If Verstappen joins Mercedes in 2026, even if the car won't be as dominant as the McLarens, he'll get at least machinery at his disposal to battle with the McLarens. With his skills and experience he could stand a chance to even outfox Piastri and Norris in some GPs.
