Bose bought McIntosh. And McIntosh was owned by someone else before that. As long as the quality of the product doesn't suffer and it's just business growth then I guess I'm ok with it.

I think the high end manufacturers don't generally make the big profits do in part to niche markets/customers. More mainstream brands tend to have bigger markets and then buying up smaller high end companies might be a good investment, and if R&D can go both ways maybe both products benefit.
