Drove behind one recently, looked up the specs, impressive. Just curious what they are like to drive, if anyone has one or any positive experiences with them. How do they stack up against the bmw equivalent?

They are hoot to drive, absolute hoot. Properly alive. It's closer to the M2 than the M4 as it's less muscle car and wants to be driven HARD.
If a used buy, try and warranty the turbos, that seems to be the potential big sticker issue. |

That's the GTAM you have pictured which we unfortunately don't get in North America.
The regular QV is very good. Many would say it's similar to an M3 but with more feeling. The refresh in 2024 made it even better with slight improvements here and there (even though on paper it reads much the same). Great steering but lighter (accurate anxiety less numb than an M3), excellent handling and sounds good. Quality can be iffy but there's lots of them with higher mileage now and no huge complaints. Limited dealer network, somewhat outdated and low(er) rent interior and infotainment are deal breakers for some, as well as RWD only. I'd love one but I'd be spinning around half of the year when it's cold/snowy.

Car guys looking at high performance sedans and worrying about tech does my head in. At least the screen is integrated and not a tacked on ipad.
It should be noted that like the previous gen M2, Alfa does allow this car to kill you if you are silly, the rear can get lively if you're ham fisted with 500HP. It is set up to rotate. |

I have nearly bought one many times. In fact, had the paperwork sitting to be signed for a Verde Montreal in 2023 but ended up getting my second G80 M3.
They are incredible driving machines. Connected, dialed in, and very much driver oriented with a very quick steering rack. I hate to use the cliche, but it was the closest you'll get to a 4 door Ferrari - engine derived from the 3.9 V8, suspension done by the same guy who did the 458 suspension. They also have a unique sound due to the 120 degree V6. Overall I still want one but have always been still hesistant hence why I didnt conclude the deal. My biggest gripes - to drive in RACE mode, the best mode, requires all traction/stability off. Not a fan of that and it's performance is still more 2015 than 2025. |

In any case, the refresh for 2024 does a lot for not trying to kill you lol. It's finally got a mechanical LSD rather than the torque vector BS from before. Power is now much more "safe" and put to the ground in a more compliant manor (as much as possible for a 500+ hp RWD higher hp/torque curve car).

I have the same tech in our Stelvio and it works, does what it has to do but yeah it's not modern for sure. On my local Alfa chat there's sort of two camps on the LSD, some guys love it, others feel it takes a little of the playfulness away, each to his own i guess.

I considered one also. It's a great drivers car, but there are a few things than kept me from it. First, questionable Alfa quality. Second, interior feels cheap. Third, the 4 doesn't have enough pep for my tastes and when you upgrade to the 6 there are just better options for the $. Mainly from BMW.

I’m on my 3rd G80 M3 - a CS and I love it. It’s one of the most aggressively styled cars and constantly get compliments and thumbs up - and it does deliver in the CS badge as it feels special to drive in every sense of the word. And I live in an area where you’ll see plenty of Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos, McLarens, Pagani, etc.

The Alfa are beautiful and do a lot of great things. Frankly, of they had ordered a manual, I would have one. Even if they had just bought like a TR6060 and stuffed it in the car... Ugh it'd have been perfect... If a little small.

If manual had been an option when I was looking I'd have one. They're awesome.
No 3rd pedal = no buy

BMW G80 - fugly, but more reliable. EOL with MY'25, so resale values will nose dive. G80 M3 is expected to end production in February 2027. Skip it. BMW G84 (7th gen ///M3) - MY'27, coming to town in calendar 2027. Lease Alfa QF for 2-3 years, then jump into G84? IMHO, a
