Help Me Please

I changed my valve covers. Vanos covers. Spark plugs. Fuel breather valve and not I’m getting a mis-fire on cylinder 8 and my DME is not reading anything.
Can anyone in NY area direct/point me in the right direction 😊

Check the coil pack wiring connection on Cyl 8. There's a chance you may have damaged the Cyl 8 coil pack when changing the spark plugs. Ensure the Cyl 8 coil pack is properly seated on the plug. Swap the Cyl 8 coil pack with a different cylinder and see if the misfire follows it.

Sounds like you’ve done a lot already. If cylinder 8’s misfiring and the DME isn’t reading it, I'd first swap the coil and plug with another cylinder — see if the misfire follows. Also check the wiring to that coil — a damaged wire or poor connection could stop the DME from picking it up.

If you're still stuck, I’d recommend getting a smoke test for vacuum leaks and possibly a deeper diagnostic. Let me know what shows up after the coil swap, I will be following this post. Good luck!

After a lot of playing around. Switching coils/spark plugs. And ground wire. I took it to the shop for compression test. Turns out cylinder 8 is reading to the dme at all. So I got a used DME and had someone reprogram it and that car is finally back on the road. 😊
