Finalizing Valhalla Spec - Opinions

I've been going back and forth on this for months, but I wanted to solicit a few opinions on what I believe is my final configuration before locking it in. Keep in mind, I have considered every color possible from exposed carbon fiber, color shifting paint like Andromeda Red (which looks mesmerizing in person), the many shades of silvers to Digital Violet.

In the end, and perhaps being persuaded by all the video coverage of the AMR themed car at Monaco and Goodwood, I'm likely going with Podium Green w/ lime green livery as I have always liked this sporty combo.

I wouldn't mind some thoughts on the overall spec choice, and some of the minor customizations I've photoshopped together.

- Livery combination

- Gloss CF roof and mirrors/satin CF lower (vs full gloss or full satin)

- Red painted inlays around center caps (yay or nay)

- Ti ultrafine badge that goes under clear coat, or black badge

I appreciate any thoughts as this is the most difficulty I've had spec'ing a car. Cheers!

You’re photoshopping your spec? You know your Q rep will send you all the renders, right? You’ll also see everything live at the studio…

Lucky bugger! What a magnificent vehicle.

I would spec it like this Vantage roadster that I’ve specced.

The bronze wheels. The subtle pinstripes in bronze black white which are the secondary colours on all the Aston F1 gear.

It’s subtle, stylish yet still has that team connection and very unique.

I like the lime essence but I think it’s just a bit boy racer for a road car. Love it on the race cars though.

I did visit the studio in June, but I didn't want to throw a million ideas at them as I was all over the place. I have some basic PS skills, so I like to visualize ideas right away at home without annoying the poor reps.

But I didn't do anything too crazy, just mix and matched a few liveries and the red accent on the wheels.

Thank you, but spec'ing sure has been stressful. Aston Martin just has way too many possibilities for someone as indecisive as me.

And congrats on your Vantage Roadster as well! I love the changes they made to the new one, looks so much more aggressive from the front while keeping the beautiful rear.

The configurator doesn't really do justice to some of the green shades, but did you also spec Podium or is that AM racing green? The bronze wheels and pinstriping is definitely a nice combo, I've explored that as well. More mature as you stated.

And I hear you on the lime livery. I originally was planning a spec that was more subtle and elegant you might say, but I figured this is probably the closest I'll get to a car that could pull off a bold livery.

Side note, a color that I would never have considered, but was so striking in person, Andromeda Red. Pictures really don't do this color justice, but it looked like liquid metal is the best way I can describe it. I was ready to spec the car in this color, no livery, just let the paint speak for itself, but decided to play it safe.

Best looking car AM makes. I visited a dealer in NNJ with alot of inventory. DBX and Vanquish look clownish. DB12 looks decent. Valhalla looks great.

Knowing anything about the dumpster fire that is MB quality conjures nightmares when realizing most AMs are MBs with body kits.

I got offered one of these too and specced out a dry carbon body one but.. I passed.

Are you sure you want to dump a million on change on a hybrid car? I'm pretty sure these are gonna depreciate like nukes. They are not like the p1, and it's an Aston, so it's gonna break and be unreliable.

Your spec looks fine, but I'd suggest contacting your dealer. There are way more customization options available than what's just on the online configurator.

Personally, I'm considering if I want to spec a sf90xx.. I'm worried I'll be nuked from orbit on depreciation on that one too.

If one can afford it...
F depreciation.
F reliability.
F it all.
GET IT!

Just my opinion. No, no and no on the East Side red miraging, or whatever it's called.
As a silver person, that'd be my looksie. Brightest they have? Lightning?

Good luck and grats. What a gorgeous car.
Except in that flu red.

Dry carbon body does look great, with some bronze wheels and pinstriping it gives off some Pagani vibes.

And yes I'd love for the car to depreciate as little as possible, but I'm going into this purchase with the same mindset as previous ones, expect to never see that $ again.

They did say Q can pretty much do anything one can imagine, but that's a bit too much customization for my brain to handle. Just a few little personalization bits is all I really need.

And the SF90XX looks like a mega car. If you have the opportunity to spec one I'd definitely consider it if I were in your shoes. I know I'll never have the brand loyalty to be offered an allocation on any of their special cars.

Thank you! Aston has some of the best silvers imo. Lightning does seem to be the brightest, Aluminite looks really awesome as well. It seems to really accent the highlights and shadows.

I hear you on the Andromeda Red. It's so hard to convey through words or photos, but I felt the exact same way before seeing it live. I've always thought of Chromaflair paint as cheap, tacky, gaudy, but it gave the exact opposite impression. It really is one of those you have to see it to believe it...but ultimately I do want something a bit brighter.

That's it, aluminite. Nice. Almost has a shiny matte vibe.
I believe you on the red, but I could never.
Now, Rosa Corsa or Dino...I'd like to see how that looks on a Val.

Congrats on the purchase. Car looks awesome.

1) I like the green and lime but I prefer the red, liquid metal type. Also a green Aston is like a white or black BMW in my personal understanding, the standard colour.

2) Full satin

3) Nay

4) Black

I'm an open minded fellow, been straight as an arrow all my life but open to new adventures if that's your thing.

Seriously, i'd avoid the cliche greens and go with something unique but classy ... and not silver.

That is not even remotely true. Same block all the ancillaries are different including oil pan, tuning, exhaust etc. The body, suspension and just about everything else are completely bespoke.

Aside from first year (2018) the AMG block cars are proving to be very reliable as were the previous model (Aston’s own V8) which is one of the most reliable exotic cars ever made.

I’ve only specced it. Still extremely happy with my previous version roadster which oddly enough I think looks more aggressive from the front, a lot to do with the colour on that model. Plus I still have the AMR VH 6 speed naturally aspirated one which no modern car comes close to for driver engagement (you’d never daily it or use as a grand tourer though).

That’s podium green. Such a lovely colour on a sunny day.

Andromeda red is beautiful especially on such a special car. That would be super tempting!

Green looks decent.

The other color seems close to poop.

On the contrary, it is intimately true that MB new car delivered quality, and reliability for any length of time, defines the true bottom of the barrel.

An AM exhaust pipe isn't too useful if the MB rear main seal is leaking because of failed oil vapor separators. And on and on...

10 year old COMAND switchgear in some AM models...

We’ll see. No real reports of any issues in AM versions of the AMG.

No old COMAND switchgear in any current Astons. All bespoke. In previous model just install CarPlay. Problem solved.

Buddy has to lemon his v12 vantage with only 1400 miles on it after going through 2 different transaxles. I've seen the issues with the first gen DBX and was interested in the 2nd gen but ehh.

I specced and ordered a Urus perf but passed on it because I can't be associated with that crowd. Part of me still wants to check out a DBX again it was a GREAT suv but nuclear depreciation bomb, useful only as a 1 pay lease for writeoffs really.
