Yea I’m baffled. They said earlier that they were free to fight.

Piastri had the better early stint but Lando destroyed him in the end.

If Lando was smart, he'd given that position back to Oscar right away, so he'd have way more laps to restart the battle for P1.
You either keep your foot down, or you comply in such a way that it can be most advantageous for you.

preserving team relationship is stupid to me, Lando should be the undisputed mclaren #1 driver, let him get the points for WDC. lando is great for mclaren as a brand too, oscar is just too boring.

He got that position because the team gave Lando the undercut whereas the #1 driver (PIA at that point) normally has 1st call.

Got it. But that’s racing right? Still seems silly to deny Lando a victory and let him further cut into Max’s points lead when McLaren was still guaranteed a 1-2 finish.
