Agreed on your observations re. prices but I tell you this much, they are not moving. 90% of the cars for sale have been there months on end.
I agree, I think most of the. 2 are over priced. But the one to get is the 09-13 S, that's the last generation of the analog without all the new nannies.

09-12, some 12's are 991's though. THat's the plan, but I want white, blue or yellow so it's a waiting game.

fun to see car forums are different of FB for the same topic.

''Most'' people on forums like real drivin feeling cars.

on FB kids only like what they saw on tv; over assisted car, all automated, that you can literally drag race it with 10 fingers in your nose and having same time slip, aka big PlayStation machines (latest lambo, most AMGs0 audi, rs3-5-6-7, gtr r35, most recent supercars, etc)

Ask and you shall receive, a cheaper option too - you'll have to deal with the exterior color though!

I dont know how old anyone is here, but its refreshing to see this.
Because a dream car to me does not include an automatic.

I like the looks of the 918 more than the Carrera GT...but wouldn't take one over it.

One of these in mint condition for me, please!

The E9/3.0 CSL is a thing of beauty to me. I will own one, one day...

A Ferrari in Rosso Corsa or a 911 GT3.

Honorable mention: E46 M3 or E92 M3.

Funny thing about achieving your dreams, once achieved, it becomes adictive.
I am like you, have owned one of my dream cars for years.
The dream car now is so far out of reach that it will remain just that.

Bingo.

Owning and enjoying aren't necessarily compatible. My dream car is so ordinary BMW that few folks, if any, pay attention to it.

On the other hand, if I owned some super exotic car, I wonder if I would really enjoy it. Take it to lunch, and then what? Where do I park it? Would I really enjoy lunch while worrying about my exotic car parked... somewhere?

I've seen some exotic cars in our neighborhood. Lasts about one year, then they mysteriously disappear. I think I know why.

Yes, as the cars become more valuable and rare, the cost to replace them or parts becomes exponential. I do drive my cars, but less the ones that are harder to replace

IIRC I read somewhere years ago that an owner sold his 1995 F1 with a lousy 12 kilometers (not a typo) in Japan for $40M with all the interior protection still in place. Inflation today? Maybe $75M lol

I was referring to this
https://www.driving.co.uk/news/ultra-low-mileage-mclaren-f1-sets-auction-record-usa/amp/

But I’m sure it’s possible private sale would exceed this one for a record auction sale
Nevertheless, a dream
And maintenance a nightmare
