Flaming Lips rock. I just turned a friend onto them last night, listening to Yoshimi and smoking cigars on the new back deck.

My 4 year old (turned 4 yesterday) said to me today, while we were listening to Yoshimi, "Is this the Flaming Lips?", without any prompting.

Do You Realize? is their best song, with Fight Test being the strong 2nd.

Race for the Prize is 10,000 times better live, with Wayne going nuts on the gong.

I've only seen a few bits of the movie Fearless Freaks (Flaming Lips documentary), but I'll buy it soon. They also have a concert DVD filmed in Oklahoma ('UFO's at the Zoo') that I'll be buying soon as well.

Here is a tip - Yoshimi is a 'concept' album, that tells a story. If you didn't know it, the pink robots are cancer, and Yoshimi is fighting cancer. Wayne is lieing when he says it's about something else. Damn, it's been my favorite album for about a year now.
