I remember from the news that this A380 is bought by Singapore Airline....

787 and 380 are two completely different classes of the airplanes. If the 380 is too big for them, they would probably opt for the 748 in the future. 787 (as mentioned above) is closer to the class of 777/350/330.

I doubt that 380 would loose customers to 787 and vice versa
