We got a puppy at the end of Nov, so now Conan O'Brien has a little sister.
Meet Pepper Potts! The rescue that had her was using superhero names, but we didn't like Rogue, so..... Her doggie DNA results say 75% American Staffordshire Terrier, 12.5% American Bulldog, 12.5% Rottweiler. |

Yep, lots of family history. My sister currently has two and my brother lost his (mostly) American Bulldog about 2 years ago. Thanks! Yeah, she's pretty friggin' cute. |

My brother had a Rottie when we were just out of school - my very good friend had one and lost her to cancer about a year ago, but I've never owned a Rottie. Not sure what my sister's dogs' genetic makeups are - I don't think she's had their DNA tested. She runs the local chapter of the Humane Society, though, so this family is BIG on adopting needy pets. Our orange cat was adopted, too. Good looking pooches you got there! ![]() My sister's two knuckleheads: Last edited by hooligan_F39; 01-05-2021 at 02:13 PM.. |

Pits get such a bad rep. They are good, loyal dogs. It’s not the dog/breed. It’s how they were raised.

Pitties are only bad if they get into a fight. They are very capable dogs, bred by humans to fight to damage or even kill, which is unlike natural dog behavior, which is to get submission, but not to damage the other dog too much. Generally speaking, most other breeds will stop fighting sooner. The 'pack' breeds are indicative of this less damaging behavior. The packs need a hierarchy, but a dog which damaged another pack dog meant the owner lost money, and that 'alpha' dog wasn't bred. Murf Last edited by Littlebear; 01-05-2021 at 07:03 PM.. |

Owen got a new rescue sister yesterday. She's an 8wk old lab/pit mix. Her mom was a gorgeous 85% chocolate lab mix.
Needless to say that we're smitten

I have some in mind already based on inputs from friends, family, vets, and the Breeder herself for our new puppy coming to us next month.
But I would like to hear from you all on your "Preferred Dog/Puppy Food" and why? Let's discuss.... |

https://www.jakespetsupply.com/colle...mon-puppy-food We like salmon as the first ingredient and it helps her coat look great. The food has good reviews, she likes it and ingredients overall seem healthy to us (and she is healthy). Also it is easy to find as our preferred pet supply store stocks it. The male adult was eating Fromm’s, which is also very good, but he has an issue with crystals in his urine and is now on prescribed food from Royal Canin. For the most part, I wouldn’t overthink it. There are some who swear by raw diets and some (like us) that prefer kibble. Also, you didn’t ask, but we have fixed feeding times with no grazing throughout the day. We started with 4x/day as puppies, then 3x, then 2x, then 1x around the time they reach a year old. The males we’ve had devour everything immediately. The females sometimes eat everything, sometimes don’t. We throw away what they don’t eat within 15 minutes of putting it out.
