Speaking of Jerome, AZ; big fan of the band Tool. MJK has the winery there, Caduceus Cellars/Merkin Vineyards (if you don't know what a merkin is, look it up) along with his wifes record store, The Puscifer (pronounced pussy fur) Store, along with their food trucks, produce stand and BJJ academy; they have pretty much taken over the town.

The girlfriend (fuck it, I'll try it out....bae.....nope, still hate it) and I have talked about making a trip there.
Wife and I have tried some of the most expensive wines from there…. Haven’t found one I like. Jerome is decent, but plan to venture outside the town if you’ve more than 24 hours to kill….

I read this and thought Biloxi, MS, he can't be serious. Crusin the Coast is a really cool event and I would highly recommend that for car lovers. Other than that, the water is horrible unless you got out on a boat a few miles. I've included the link, just because.

Sounds like something said by someone that’s never been there. Actually it has some of the clearest water in the gulf, the brown the water looks like is the sand bottom. But if you want to see really beautiful water just catch the ferry out to ship island which is very cheap. Anyone but especially those with kids will never forget the only working shrimp boat tour I’ve ever heard of. New Orleans is a little over an hour away. A short drive away there are several air boat swamp tours. For those staying at the hard rock, the shrimp boat tour docks out back, as do many shrimp boats, fishing charter boats also and a little tour trolley leaves from there too. There’s are restaurant out back over the water that will cook the fish you caught! The Wednesday of cruisin the coast downtown Biloxi streets and parking lots are packed with all the thousands of classic cars for Biloxi block party so if you stay at the hard rock you just walk across the street and your in the middle of it. My wife and I have traveled all over this country and several others, she don’t like old cars, swap meets, car cruises, car auctions but come October I better have a suite booked for all 10 days because she is ready to go. And I won’t even start on the food!

Most of us from NOLA are very familiar with Biloxi, it's only 1.5 hours away... Love the place but comparing the beach experience in Biloxi to other spots on the Gulf Coast is simply not a fair comparison. Cruisin' the Coast, great food, atmosphere etc but I'd go to Alys Beach/Sea Side/Water Color over Biloxi if we are answering OP's question about where to go for beach vacations and not car shows.

Edit: And based on your response, you didn't notice that rebekahb is from New Orleans...

Thought we were doing beach, so if not, go to GNP in Montana. Stay near Flathead lake, spend time hiking 10K feet up...its surreal. Simply in awe up there.

Also kayak to Wildhorse island on Flathead.

(and we prefer Florida gulf coast also)

Something tells me that any dude who is on the hunt for the best "baecation" spot is not generally up for dealing with grizzley bears, dirt on his flawless white kicks, or mosquitos. Dont get me wrong, GNP is outstanding; I just got back from a week outside of Whitefish. But I'm not generally looking for a baecation, into the club scene, oiling up my beach muscles, or getting my hair styled. :D

yea maybe, but you don't have to hike that much really to enjoy Montana/GNP, and we stayed in cabin on 30 acres, lite kayaking and hiking, Whitefish dive bars etc..fire side at night, one of the most relaxing vaca's we've ever had. Just mentioned since he said Colorado/non beach.

(and this is from someone that lays on his ass a few weeks a year in Hilton head lol)
