Having to wear a face mask while working out.

I'm about ready to give up on this fit life.

This doesn't happen when I use the regular area of the gym, but on the ladies' only side chicks lay on the fucking ground taking selfies and hog the machines. They move if I start slamming weights and ask them if they're finished their sets, but no wipe-down of the mats or machines they were sitting on. :\

Working out in a specific spot (Bench), get up and go get a drink, read the board, come back and there is someone in your spot. They moved the bench to do burpees! Mother F er! What I did...

Stood a foot from him and stared. He looked at me like wtf naturally. ' I WASN'T DONE WITH THE BENCH PRESS!! " I yelled. Grabbed the bench and put it back where I had and started lifting.

The look on his face was priceless and I think he might have dropped a deuce in his shorts. Another guy next to us was laughing his ass off as he saw the whole thing. I pointed to him like YUP I was correct, right? He said OH YEAH dude I would have killed him. Of course the guy was a newbie and I let him off lightly. I was cool about it really as he was apologetic as hell. All good.

The funny thing is this guy is Mr. Gym Rat/buddy with the owner and struts around like he owns the place type guy for starters. Plus there several open areas in the gym to drop down and start doing burpees but to just come on in knowing I was working out there for 20 minutes, as he knew I was there, was just comical. I was waiting for Ashton Kuchar and the film crew to come walking in.

I was cool about it but in just disbelief. It did feel like a set up but DUDE... COME ON!

Had this happen several times before. If I go to refill my bottle now, I always leave my towel on the bench. It's helped several times.

I disagree. I do this all the time, BUT only if I've been waiting for a while. I've witnessed someone do 6+ sets, with a 4-5min rest in between each set. I can't stand that. That's not etiquette at all.

Now if you only just started, and the person tapping you on the shoulder was not waiting previously, and came right up to you, that makes perfect sense to be annoyed.

WHAT CURRENTLY ANNOYS THE HELL OUTTA ME: The LA Fitness that I go to now, I restarted going there a year ago when I moved back to the area. When I originally moved to that area 5 yrs ago, that same gym had just opened, and I was one of the 1st regulars.
This place has gone downhill since as far as maintenance. No one re-racks weights (personally pet peeve & kills my OCD), or they put them wherever it's convenient. Which makes it hard as hell to find what you need. The staff used to go around and re-rack/pick them up for shit head/lazy members. Now they don't do a thing about it (I'm sure due to COVID BS).

The other thing is I keep witnessing more people in the gym in sandals, loafers, etc and full on jeans. No staff is having anyone adhere to dress code. Especially with the footwear. I watched some high school girl in sandals almost crush her toes the other day, and she just nervously laughed it off. WTH!!!

The weights seem heavier as I age, I suggest vanity weights that are mislabeled for us old people.

I find it incredibly difficult to not help other people, although I know better. I see terrible form and bad technic almost daily. Not that I am a pro, but if you are doing curls and it takes movement from your entire body to get the weight up, lower your weight. I only think I've seen maybe 3 people at the gym do rows right.

Don't make the mistake that there is one right way to do a row. Tons of variations targeting different areas and movement can look funky but hit the right spot.

Oh no mistake made. I totally get that. I'm all too aware of the slight movements to target different areas. I'm talking about in experienced lifters.

It's funny because I had never even checked out this thread until now. Short answer to the OP's question is "People". I prefer working out in my own home and not have to look at and smell others.

Later on you met them into the sauna and then they get annoyed or bothered of you, when you a) take no further look because you had already seen it all or b) you look just to confirm whats to expect (good or bad)?
