Wow the Mercedes is much faster due to the track layout. Max couldn't really catch up, but I'm sure Bottas was pushing it more since it was a sprint and not much to lose. We'll see how this plays out over the course of a long race.

Lewis will have to work very hard to win this one, could well be a turning point in the Championship battle.
With Max & RBSR inheriting pole it's their race to lose.

Personally I'd like to see a McLaren win, preferably Norris. I can't be doing with watching someone drink Champagne from a wet, sweaty & presumably smelly racing boot

Anyways am looking forward to tomorrow's race & even more so to reading the 'insightful' & unbiased in & post race analysis here on BP

I think so as well. Max was 1.4-1.6s behind Bottas consistently throughout sprint. If Max can get ahead on that first lap cleanly, particularly that first chicane, the traffic will hold up Ham. Mclaren having P2&3 start will be super interesting as well on how this affects Ham. Hopefully no flags in first lap, but this circuit is destined to have f-ups on that first lap haha

Today after 30 min. and 18 laps , the first McLaren (RIC) finished 14 + sec. behind MAX .

It's very clear that HAM makes mistakes by the pressure coming from MAX !
BTW : MAX looked in top-shape , he's ready for it !

HAM even lost his position to GAS, but GAS hit his front wing I think to the back of RIC car in T1 (you can see the left front part of the wing suddely dipping down, which indicates that the right front parts hits a rear wheel flicking the wing up)

That was useless , because MAX was faster away anyway .
Then he noticed that NOR was coming and then he pulled it to his right side and pushed NOR on the grass => pic # 2 , 3 ,4

Honestly , HAM looked like 'drunk man behind his steering wheel ..

I also didn't know then that BOT would take a new PU.

Lets see what the race tomorrow brings. Hopefully my crystal ball is still that dirty then...

One thing is for certain, if VER wins tomorrow, it's certainly not because he had the best car for the track.
It'll be a combination of talent, tactics and a bit of luck (or maybe better said poor tactics of the competition)

A bit of both. He is of course allowed to defend his position, but you can clearly see that he is the only one who forces a car (NOR) onto the last (dirty) piece of the PIT outlane and consequently onto the grass.
If he's the only one in the field doing that, than.......(at least that shows some desparation...)

Yeah .But HAM's slalom was a big mistake , and finally he lost it on both sides .
Today HAM is been screwed by both McLaren's ..

Won't be easy to break the McLaren's defence from his P4 !

NOR is in big competition with BOT and PER for 3rd place so the more cars between him and those two is very important, and of course McLaren is also in a big fight with ferrari for 3rd place WCC so the more cars between them and the ferrari's the better.

AND most importantly starting from an INHERITED pole, all Max has to do is get cleanly away & drive a 'faultless' race, of which he is more than capable of doing.

Provided neither Lewis or Max don't have a dnf Lewis will have to drive a pretty special race to win from 4th.
I say let it play out, as a race fan & neither a Lewis or Max fan it's a win, win for me provided the racing's good

Yea I didn't appreciate that. Lando can't catch a break after Spa and having a new car. But it is what it is.

Overall with the size of the modern day F1 car, or racing cars in general, not a fan of this circuit. Hopefully no accidents tomorrow, particularly with these high speeds

I was shocked how behind the Mclaren's were by the end of the sprint race. And Ham was not able to pass. This could work out in Max's favor if Ham gets caught behind 2 cars from same team. Go Mclaren!

Lando P2 finish would be amazing for that kid. I know my son and I will be ecstatic! We'll root for Danny Ric too lol
