I didn't get the hint that there won't be a Competition version.ynguldyn do you still see an M2 Competition at some point in the lifecycle of the G87? According to BMWBLOG they're saying BMW plans to skip an M2 Competiton and go straight to an M2 CS.

MadBimmeRad wroteThe quote below is part of that article. Seems pretty clear that they don't think there will be an M2C.I read it differently; it is suggesting that CS is more of a foregone conclusion than the Competition. I didn't get the hint that there won't be a Competition version.

If a BMW M2 CS does happen, you can expect it to jump right over the M2 Competition. The base G87 M2 already starts at the power levels and performance of the previous M2 CS F87. We experienced that while driving a prototype last year. So there is a smaller gap to close now between models. As you’d expect, there are currently rumors in Munich about an upcoming M2 CS. Furthermore, it seems that it’s going to be the only other model variant of the G87 M2. As far as we know, there isn’t a G87 M2 Competition currently planned.

Any idea if the vehicle in this patent submission is a future model or marketing fluff.

darksilkx1 wroteI think it's all about the expectations of making money on a specific model. I don't know the internals of this process but it seems like there's a gate ~6 months before a model's intro to the market where BMW decides if the market will take the car (by then, the car itself is ready for production, so it's not an engineering decision). If you go back in the history of this thread, there are several other examples of the same thing happening at approximately the same time frame, with much more mundane models, like for example the planned but never sold US F45 2GT or most recently US iX1.I'm assuming because it would lower the pricing too much for their "Halo Car".

It looks like the 30d wont be offered on the G60 at all? Looks like it’s coming close to the end of the road for the B57 and they won’t make a sucesssor?

redlineblog wroteF70 is coming out in just over a year, there's no time left for any F40 updates.ynguldyn Do you have any information on a possible F40 LCI? We have been seeing camouflaged 1 Series prototypes on the road for a year now but it seems a bit too early to be testing the F70 – and they look too much like F40s?

Just saw some 2025 X3 spy shots that show the M50i (?) - it has quad exhausts along with a charging port. Im thinking the next “M40i” upgrade to the X5 50e powertrain. If there was an M350e I would hop on that so quick - love the around town electric option with my 330e but would love it paired with the B58! So I hope this is correct
