This forum is hilarious. Any new car gets posted and the first 10 comments are "I'm keeping my current car forever, this sucks!" Always the same people who need to remind everyone that they hate EVs, that BMW design from 10, 15, 20, 30 years ago was better, etc. etc.

Similar deal on the Skytop post where a bunch of people were calling a $500k sold-out car overpriced and that they'd never consider one. Rinse and repeat.

A comedian once said that the most incredible things humanity has ever created are being wasted on the worst, most ungrateful generation in history.
He wasn’t wrong.

This car generates more downforce than a Formula 1 machine. It outperforms the supercars we used to worship—and when you need it to be, it’s quieter, smoother than the high end luxury vehicles. Seriously, I don't understand what else can anyone expect from this.

Not to mention, no smoke comes out of this thing - you know the kind it kills you if you get stuck in a garage with it.

And yet… look at the reactions. Petty, bitter, joyless trolls : It's sad that you exist in this forum, and on this planet.

Mental illness isn’t just widespread—it’s becoming the default.

I was with you until you took an environmentalist tree hugger jab at people, as if EV’s don’t pollute [at some stage in the arc of creation to destruction]…….and as if people are dying in garages around the country at alarming rates.

Really, man? Mental illness? The fact that you're driving an EV makes you mentally superior?

This forum has become a battleground for spitting on others just because they disagree with certain opinions or choices. It’s not the first time I’ve seen such disgusting, arrogant, and condescending comments.

Value lies in your character, not in what you drive.

No, driving an EV doesn’t make me superior—never said it, never hinted at it. If that’s the angle you’re coming from, you either didn’t read what I wrote or you’re deliberately twisting it to start something.

Let’s get one thing straight: BIG YES to: “ Value lies in your character, not in what you drive.” That’s actually exactly my point. I don’t care about what you drive, I can even get another ICE car before they go extinct. My comment wasn’t about cars—it was about behavior. The real issue here is that some people cling to their outdated preferences like it’s part of their identity. They treat any innovation as a personal attack because they can’t handle change. That’s not strength of opinion—that’s weakness of character.

And here’s a perfect example of that mentality:

Quote:
Shit take. Shit technology if you care about feelings at all.
This person has never seen the car, never sat in it, never driven it—but he’s got it all figured out. Not because he knows better, but because he’s emotionally triggered by the idea of something different.

These same people flood every EV thread with the same lazy insults and recycled rants. It’s not even about EVs anymore—it’s just trolling disguised as bravado. If someone spends this much energy hating a car they’ve never driven, that’s not a hot take. That’s unresolved personal crap bleeding into every conversation. Which DEFINITELY makes it some sort of a mental problem.

It’s predictable. It’s exhausting. And honestly? It’s pathetic.

Thankfully, the ignore button exists because it is tiring.

Imagine if those of us who like EVs and are excited for the future went into every single thread about ICE cars and shit on them Every. Single. Time.

There’d be a war.

I just don’t have the energy for close-minded trolls that won’t ever budge (or at least won’t admit when they do).

Exactly. I have had 13 BMWs since 2004. Including a 325i, 2 M3s, 4 335i (including the 335d), 5 BMW i3s, and My i4 M50. Have been driving electric BMWs for the past 11years and don't ever plan on going back to gas. The M50 serves all my needs. I have even put 4000 miles on it in one month, with trips from SoCal to Zion, Vegas, Laughlin, Grand Canyon, etc.

It's a fundamental thing, that's why it's easy to conclude. No computer or electric based machine will provide a visceral experience that fills you with emotion. It will provide a bit of it, you'll feel the physics while driving, but no wonderful sound, no smell, no clutch work, no decision making- what gear to be in or how much throttle to add to rev match to down shift. Need/want to wrench on it? Too bad.

I thought that would be a pretty well understood concept but I guess not?

Wanna know what's predictable, exhausting , and pathetic? Most of humanity slipping into a trance every time a shiny object is dangled in front of them. You're are being sold, rather propagandized, on a worse product for the benefit of industry not the consumer, not the planet. You bought it hook, line and sinker.

Your opinion. It's as if the oil lobby is speaking right through your lips.

Anyway, people spend way more time playing video games and staring at their screens than they do driving a car and way more than ever dreaming of 'wrenching' on their cars. That you think that's what people want to do says a lot.

The next will be a generation who will get more enjoyment sitting in the backseat of an EV being driven to their destinations while playing Need for Speed or GT than actually driving, dealing with shitty other drivers and traffic congestion and paying for gas and repairs on rackety 3 and 4 cylinder engines.

Beautiful. I fancy it as a future car.

Fewer parts means fewer repairs. No leaking gaskets. Low maintenance. Fast. Everything to ask for.

There's a not insignificant group of people who thinks earth is flat.

EV adoption isn’t happening organically — but not because informed people don’t want them. If it were organic, EV market share would be rising much faster. But the playing field is nowhere near level:

Fossil fuel money still floods Washington.
Misinformation — from people like you — spreads faster than facts.
We don’t build enough EV chargers.
Fossil fuels still receive an eye-watering $757 billion in annual subsidies.
Worst of all: too many people trust YouTube influencers over actual scientists.
If we could fix those things?

Gas-powered cars would be weekend toys
The toxic exhaust in our air (CO, NOx, soot, benzene, SO₂) would start to vanish — and with it, the respiratory issues shortening lives today.
Cities would get quieter. Peaceful, even.
Homes near highways would go up in value.
And most importantly, we’d finally start slowing climate change.

Let’s be clear: EVs aren’t being forced on anyone. Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) cars are being artificially propped up — with subsidies, lobbying, and lies.

The natural, logical choice for most people? It’s EVs. The only thing standing in the way is ignorance — fueled by greed - and those helping spread it.

My goodness, the multi-quote button exists for a reason.

Regardless I don't know why it's so difficult for people to just move on if there's a car they don't like, unless they want to actually have a nuanced discussion that goes beyond "this sux, electric bad". Like LuisBoston said, I'm not going into threads on ICE cars lambasting every time a new model comes out, because I can just avoid discussing things that don't interest me (though to be personally clear, I'm still interested in ICE cars as well). It just gets wearisome having to hear the same rehashed, tired points about EVs and the gubmint and emissions every time a thread about an EV pops up. Let people enjoy things.
