Sounds fun and exciting lol.

I think you may be romanticizing M cars a bit from a performance stand point. Their out of the box lap times aren't that special for their price points. And until recently, Kia hasn't tried to make something that competes in that type of use. So, there really wasn't any evidence on whether they could or could not make that product.

Electric cars getting better and better, and this one is a great example for a huge step in the right direction.
But still never the soul or personality as a gasoline powered car. No fun exhaust notes etc. I;m still not interested.

I am not saying they do not have their place...

EVs are the future. But not in the near future.

Hybrid is where its at.

Full EV would be in 2050-2060.

BEVs aren't the future. fuel Cell EVs, sure. But there's a lot of technology that needs to be refined between now and then. Fusion power for starters (though admittedly, we could probably make it work with a shitload of fission plants but people are too stupid to support those).

I'd like to report that I had a M340i and found it a bit undramatic, I swapped to a M550i and found it a bit lazy, bought EV6 GT and found it amazingly good (better handling and power delivery than 340/550) but boring, 2 weeks ago I bought a 140hp Suzuki Swift Sport 6 speed manual and it is very fun to drive hard, heel toe downshift and all. It even comes with a hand brake for when the road gets slippery.

I think this debate will never end. I don't know what I like anymore.

Great choice. I bought a Swift Sport back in January for the kids and as a nice extra car. Less than 1000kg (2200lbs). Such an entertaining car. Love it. Absolute fun machine.

I got rid of my M550 because it just wasn't exciting to me. It's an amazing tourer, super comfy, powerful and gets amazing gas mileage considering the TTV8. But omg so boring to drive.

100% mate, 100%. the problem is it's too good at doing public roads and too powerful without much theatrics.

my 140hp 6 Speed manual Suzuki so far is the most fun, even with terrible plastics, no road noise insulation yet has terrible engine sound, and hopeless front end wheel spin. maybe coz it's a manual and it's light.

I'm keeping the TTV8 though. I sold my previous boring M340i and I wish I could find a way to store it long term being the last pure ICE I6 BMW, but I don't have a warehouse to store my cars.

The age old problem with us car guys. All the toys!! Oh wait, I don't have all the money!

Driving a slow car fast is often times a lot more enjoyable than driving a fast car slow. Hence I am on Miata #6

I just did a FARA weekend at Sebring. Turned best time of 2:33:18 with my Ioniq 5N on factory wheels/tires. The street tires have a very narrow window before overheating. Everything is stock except for H&R red springs and front DS3.12 pads. Coilovers and track wheel/tire package are incoming. Cheers!

Do they have chargers at Sebring now or how does that work?

Seems pretty clear to me.

You like driver engagement. You bought a manual car without nannies and assists and are enjoying wringing it out.

Not remotely surprising.

I like to see the fun and different takes on EVs, adds a little variety vs them all seemingly being similar. The gimmicks may get old but it's a new area and it's nice to see them at least trying some new things.

Im disappointed that no one is actually trying to redefine what we think of as an automobile. Why do EVs need to look like a combustion car when it doesn’t need an engine or drivetrain?
