I absolutely love the lines and the greenhouse in particular. Hopefully not a 5,000lbs pig, and maybe has some buttons on the dash rather than all touchscreen control.

Not gonna happen. This thing, altough very awesome, is like 2 cars wide. But, it will look similar to this. And the infotainment will be touch only. We know, how it will look like. iDrive X has been introduced already.

Given the sales trends of their latest designs, they’re already planning to reintroduce buttons if they’re smart.

Big “if”.

There is one market - China - where the population is all in on digital, screens, and computers doing everything for them. And their fiercely nationalistic attitudes are driving them increasingly to purchase from Chinese brands, who to be fair are building cars suited to their tastes.

Everywhere else, customers are clearly dissatisfied that they can’t adjust their own damn air vents or interact with the car without diverting attention to yet another damn screen.

So BMW needs to decide if they want to continue chasing a fading foreign market, or instead lean into their heritage and go back to building fun, engaging cars for people who, if the option were proffered, would decline to merge their consciousness with a phone.

The outside is less ugly than what they offer today.

Yeah, I looked up some interior images after my original posting... while I love the exterior of that car, the interior as shown is a huge non-starter for me.
I am definitely not the target audience LOL

I know it’s sacrilegious to say it but the BMW concept gives me Tesla M3 vibes inside and out..

Looking forward to real world model implementation.

I’ve said this on a few threads:
- I currently own two BMWs, and (like all of you) have influenced the purchase of many others.
- My goal was to purchase an individual M3 this year (my first brand new car).
- I went to the dealer, sat in one, and walked away totally disillusioned.

And I just put a deposit down on a new Ranger Raptor. For the price difference, I’ll just hold onto my F30 and enjoy driving it with no car payments for another x-many years until BMW gets their f***** act together and puts buttons back in their cars. I made peace with an ugly exterior maw on the front, but I’m simply unwilling to purchase a new M3 that has the same screen as the Santa Fe I rented over the winter.

My wife feels the same way. We’re due for a new SUV but she got a look at the new X7 and promptly noped out of the whole enterprise. We’ll hold onto our F15 and I guess buy a Lexus or something if we get desperate. Neither of us has interest in what the brand has turned into, and we’ve owned BMWs exclusively for well over a decade.

That Rear End is FUGLY!!!

I don't care what the Technology and Performance is. I personally MUST enjoy walking up to my vehicles and being enamored with them. Whether they are in my Garage, or in a Parking Lot.

This ain't it. Hopefully the LCI M5 does enough for me to grab one. I'm perfectly OK with it's current looks. But I need better interior quality and colors and soft close doors. I'm still strongly considering adding it to my garage just because overall I like it so much.

I3M looks like a tale of 2 halves that the engineers didnt know how to merge them. The front looks great with the wide grill and the snake eyes (reminds me of the I8 look with wider grill). The rear...oh boy....horrible !!! I hope they add some contour and some extra lights and make it less like a bubble butt. C'mon BMW....you can do better !!!

I keep coming back to this video hoping I’ll feel differently. The front really isn’t horrible. Maybe even intriguing. At certain angles I can even be ok with the rear. But there is just something absolutely awful going on in between the two and I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is. And then there’s the interior images that conjur up some 1960s conversation pit vibes. I truly don’t get it at all
