How to decrease tire roar/road noise?

So I have a M550i with Bowers and Wilkins but where i live they build roads with some sheet called "chip seal". I can only enjoy the B&W in the garage or on perfect tarmac. Unfortunately 90% of the roads are not these and all i can hear is tire roar.

So much that I bought a new daily, a Kia EV9 - the sound system is much much inferior but at least i can hear music and not road noise.

I once stripped a Subaru wagon and insulated the entire cabin but it didn't make any dent to tire roar.

Any ideas? Tires are 3 year old Continental Sport Contact 5 255 40 19 all round.

Edit - i forgot to add, according to my dBmeter, this is 2 dB lower than the stock RFT pirelli p zero 245/35/20 275/30/20

I don't expect anything but I was very disappointed at the road noise. I can't change the government's roading policy.

I'm thinking going onto some touring tires maybe?

New tyres will make a big improvement, the best tyre out there is the PS4S for road comfort. THE Pzeros are pretty good too. They just need to be new and up to their half life, after that, road noise will be annoying again.

Insulation works wonders as well I insulated the M3, 4 years ago and de-insulated a month ago.

I wrote about it here:

You need to use a combo of butyl)or Dodomats roadblok, which is very heavy stuff on the bottom wheel well panel and on the rear wheel arches and then thinsulate all around the rest of the rear, boot floor and the side panels. Thinsulate is very light and can be used freely.

New tyres and this will make the car very quiet.

I'd definitely look at tires.

thanks.

i'm not sure i have the drive to do that. it didn't make much difference to my subaru and also the guys who did on youtube, made no difference to their cars either.

will just get new tires when i want to drive it.

the Kia EV truck i just got is as quiet as a iX and i'm enjoying it very much. no work needed!

New Pirelli tires with PNCS(Pirelli Noise Cancelling System). Seeing some good reviews with noise reduction. I personally have not tried them…..yet.
