Beware of deceptive anti theft company

Today I received a letter from a company called Carsmarti which claims to be associated with BMW. This company sells some anti theft program which claims it works with law enforcement to track your car in case of theft by way of your license plate. They don’t have my plate, but somehow got my information about my BMW, name, and address. The letter claims to waive a $388 fee, but then charges $295 “registration fee”. This is a very deceptive business practice.

Probably just ur dealer selling your information away. I got a letter about buying extended warranty 2-3 months after picking up my brand new G80

Ditching the license plate is one of the first things thefts do. No value to their anti theft program.

the dmv actually sells your info too
