Decided to put my 14.5" upper up for sale and replace it with a 20" setup since I also have 12.5" and 10.5" ARs. I'll slap the Trijicon Credo scope that is collecting dust on it. Just need to find a deal on a Surefire closed tine flash hider as I need that for my SOCOM Mini2 can
Also picked up a 10/22 that I am going to tear apart and do a custom build. Leaning Bravo chassis as of now with the Magpul X22 Hunter in second place

Ordered a couple of suppressor covers from a company called Weka Tech out of New Zealand. They're high temp silicone covers. Will post back up on what I think of them.

Just curious why folks use covers on suppressors? Is it to be able to remove the can right away while it's hot? Otherwise I want mine to cool off as quickly as possible. If I was hiding from an attack helicopter in my back yard and wanted to reduce my heat signature I suppose that would be a good use of them

It is to assist in detaching the suppressor when it's hot. It's also to help prevent inadvertent burn injuries. The suppressor covers I ordered are cheap enough to just get them and see how it goes. I ordered two tubes that you cut down to size for $50 plus the $14 shipping cost. I wasn't too keen on spending $90 and up for what various places said is the cost of entry for a quality suppressor cover.

Gotcha. I'm going to order a Banish 22 today since they are having the free tax stamp at Silencer Central right now. That and 10% off for the military discount I should buy two of them. I was looking at the Off Grid 22lr suppressor but those aren't included in the promotion and have limited reviews on performance.

Yeah, I was about to post up about them running the tax stamp free promo again. It's actually bigger now because it applies to more of the Banish suppressors along with other manufacturers Silencer Central sells. The email I got said 50+ suppressors are part of the promo.
I was thinking about getting a dedicated pistol suppressor but funds are getting tight for me lately. Also, I forgot one other benefit of using a suppressor cover which is to minimize mirage effects when shooting through a scope. |

Ordered the Banish 22, but they don't offer the military discount with other promotions. This will be my last one for a while, but I want a dedicated 9mm can also eventually.

I recently took my Dead Air Mask to the range and slapped it on my TX22 SCR. What a hoot. I’m on day two of waiting for a Mojave 9 to get out of purgatory. My Sandman-X got approval in one day a few months ago.

Our local shooting club expanded their membership by 150 this year and I was lucky enough to snag one of the openings. It's only about 15 min from my house and now that I'm retired I expect to do more shooting. Good timing 👏
Prior to this I used their public shoot days which were two days a month 200yd range and rifles only. With membership i now have access to all four rifle ranges and three pistol ranges any time. Looking forward to more range time in 2025. |

I'm jealous that you're retired, I'm at the age where I am chomping at the bit.
I am fortunate that we have land in the country, so I have a very basic steel gong setup in my back yard and I can shoot up to 100 yards. I sit in my home office, load up 50 rounds or so and go out in shoot after dinner, and be back in the house in 5 minutes. I have been getting into the silencers lately just because it's probably better for our nearest neighbor, and a couple of my dogs hate shooting, and I can do most of it without ear protection or only wearing foam earplugs. |

Made a few updates one of my ARs. Added a 45° mounted red dot and VFG to engage at short distances.
![]() And dipped a toe into 2011s. MAC 9 DS Comp with MJD grip. Also installed lighter recoil and main springs and a tool-less guide rod. Such a smooth shooter! ![]()

let me know how the Mac holds up. I'm ready to dip my toe back into the 2011 world. Staccato keeps emailing me about the HD P4 and now the HD P4.5 and telling me the discount is limited to two pistols. lol

It took 13 days this time for my suppressor to get out of jail, last time it was 3 days.
I'm kind of looking around for a 10mm handgun, maybe a Dan Wesson, but I don't know if I want to spend that much. I was looking at a Glock 40, but I maybe want something more collectible or desirable. I just know that I was the option to mount a red dot on it without milling the slide as I can't do iron sights anymore these days. 10mm ammo is expensive, but it would just be a weekend fun gun and maybe one I keep in the vehicle when traveling. I did find this one which comes with a threaded barrel also, and is double stack unlike the Dan Wesson: https://www.gricegunshop.com/sti1045...c-15-18rd.html |

Going to spend some time this afternoon shooting a few 22 through the Banish 22 with different velocity ammo just to play a bit.
Stopped at the LGS yesterday and picked up some ammo, walked out with a Springfield Prodigy Comp 5" and Holosun 507 Comp. They had CCI 22lr subsonic Clean so I bought some of that, I want to start building up a small supply of that instead of it's lead fouling sibling. Also some CCI Blazer 147gr 9mm, I have not tired that yet, I want to try it through my PC carbine. Also a brick of 45ACP 230gr and some CCI Blazer 124gr which is what I try to use now instead of 115gr. Looks like a good afternoon at the home range. |

I buy Federal 150 grain Syntec when I find it on sale, and Winchester 147 grain super suppressed, and 147 grain Syntec. The 147 grain usually sine waves around the point of being supersonic, I've been shooting and I'll hear the occasional crack out of it. In a pistol they all stay subsonic.

I have had no issues in my pcc with american eagle 147gr or iwi 158gr.
all cycle fine suppressed. i tried some of that heavier Hush ammo but it wouldn't cycle consistently. speaking of subsonic, my bday is coming up and i always buy a glock or two on my bday from the local le store. so talk me out of a gen5 glock 30 in .45 acp. please. |

I'm not sure what you'd want a Glock 30 for? 45ACP in such a small gun I assume a pocket gun? Personally if I'm buying a firearm in the Lord's caliber it's a 1911/2011 and and that takes an optic and has a threaded barrel, 45 suppresses so well.
I don't own a Glock, but I would take a Glock 40 if someone gave it to me ![]() |

I'm thinking of getting a dedicated 9mm suppressor to sit on my PC Carbine. Possibly going on a pistol at times, so I'm looking for one that comes with the fixed barrel spacer so I don't have to buy another $100 accessory.
