These are the first instances in which you realized Dicaprio is an incredible actor? Either you dont see many movies, or you just dont recognize good acting when you see it. Hes been pretty much universally considered the greatest actor of our generation long before either of these two movies.

no i meant to say i never realized how amazing acting decaprio did since i was young when his movies started to come out. When titanic came out i was too young and immature to see the role he was playing. as i grew up i watched titanic again and realized that he was born to act. After "catch me if you can" i knew he was amazing.

the departed and blood diamond are just his recent feats that had great casts. which proved to be success.

I think his best work so far was in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" with Johnny Depp back in 1993 before he got famous. I loved his performance in "The Beach" one of my all time favorite movies.. but his best role was in the departed.
