Sandisk. Never had one failed on me.

I had two Lexars failed on me before.

Kingston would be my second choice.

Transcend uses generic products and sells it under its name.

The lexars that failed on you.... was it a SD card or compact flash?
Did you abuse the cards? I prefer Lexar because none failed on me, but they're more expensive than the other brands.

I have a Transcend 8gb and it's still going after about 7 months. I'm always afraid that it might fail so whenever I can I upload the pictures from it straight to my computer as soon as possible.

I've got two SanDisks and one Lexar. I've never had any issues with any of them in the two years that I've been using them.

Yesterday, I just purchased a Transcend 8 gig. compact flash 133X for 30 dollars and I tested it and it preformed pretty fast. I lightly scratched the exterior while trying to close the cover the camera when I didn't push the card in all the way. So far, it's working fine.

It was a compact flash. I lost all the pictures in there. I never abuse the card as it is always inside the camera.

I would have to say Sandisk. There is a rebate for them going on right now- $60 if you buy 3 of the same kind. Right now it's going for $35 a piece on buydig ($15 after rebate- free shipping & no tax in most states I believe).

I've used many examples of both major and offbrand cards and never had a failure. That said I've always gotten the best performance out of the high end Sandisk cards. With the recent rebates these days the Extreme III's are about the best deal going in a high speed card.

Was in Costco today, and they have Sandisk Extreme III 8GB CF cards for $49.99! I bought 2. These say "30MB/s 200x" on the packaging, so they should be the newer models. My D300 says the 8GB card gives me 257 shots in "RAW + JPEG FINE" mode.

I wouldn't mind having the Extreme IV UDMA cards, but the D300 has a pretty big buffer, so I don't know if I really need that 45MB/s write speed. :confused2
