Any gear, any speed, the car can throw you back in your seat and peel the skin on your face.

Get one.
Truth be told, there is nothing like the sound of a good American V8 with the right exhaust.

I really like the 'vette, but it has gained the reputation as "The old guys' sports car." Look at the majority of 'vette drivers and you'll see what I mean.

But what seals it for me - Have you ever seen a 'vette try to motor on in the rain? I have, and in SCCA Showroom Stock trim, a VW GTI will eat its lunch. Pretty much a deal-breaker. . .

Have Fun,
Rick

Did you know that Formula 1 cars use leaf springs?

"Decent road manners"? The ignorance is strong with this one. Any vette will easily outhandle any car made by BMW.

This is the one problem I have with BMW boards, too much of this kinda crap.
Read it again and this time try and comprehend the words. No pro-BMW speak in there anywhere (I wouldn't have a 335i either). By decent road manners (vette) I mean it's quite compliant for general road use. That was a compliment in the fact it can be both docile and a terror. Not many cars can pull that one off.

Be careful throwing around words like ignorance. You just may run into someone one day in the flesh without the LCD screen to hide behind. But that's to be expected from the 1er crowd as per how unfriendly your website is to each other let alone any "outsider." Entry level car...entry level humans I guess. :confused2

BTW, leaf springs in F1. I hope that was just a joke on your part. Ever heard of a wishbone suspension with T bars, dampers, and coil springs? My god! Go back to entry-level land...please and thank you.

And for what it's worth, the vette with those massive tires has a lot to do with its lateral grip. I'm not knocking the vette. I'm not a vette kinda guy, but I appreciate it for what it is.

Watch this hahahahaha

Here is a Video w/ the Corvette LS3 exhaust

Compare the fastest Nurburgring Lap times of any street legal BMW to a Corvette of the same $$ and you'll understand why Corvette owners laugh at BMW drivers.
I knew that first vid ROFLOL:cool!:
Yes the Corvette is a very fast and relatively light piece of machinery with a nice pricetag. I know a few guys who own Z06's, excellent cars. Maybe a bit too extravagant and the interior is a bit crappy imho.

I really need 4 seats and a 'normal' representative car, where I live the Corvette is a bit 'too much', the M already is, that's why I have the M3 saloon. But then again, I 'd like to see a regular Corvette guy still laughing doing a Nordschleife lap and seeing me disappear in front of him.Chiao.LOL:)
Just like a few years ago the VW Polo GTI at my six and passing me in my former 330i, a local german, hahahaha

I've seen a lot of very fast cars on the Ring doing nothing but sightseeing....

well same goes for you then, lets pray you never run into one of us "entry level people" on the street. .
as for being unfriendly to each other, no way. Ive never come across another 1addicts who was unfriendly.
As for being unfriendly to "outsiders", not unless they come in looking for a fight. With that, stay in the z4 forums douchebag :finger:
better yet, lets go for a drive so you can see your barly-a-///M get taken by a stock 135

as another member stated. Many of you who have a 335i could have just as easily gotten a vette so my question is how come none of u have one ? I'm not sAying this in a malicious manner or anything but just curious..
Good question. I shun another 'Vette because there were no good dealerships in my area, a situation that has worsened with GM in financial trouble and dealerships closing shop. The only reason.

When pursuing a 'Vette, Corvette Forum is your best friend.

I hate to be the one to let you in on this, but neither was the 'vette - but that doesn't stop the 'vette crowd from treating Zora Arkus-Duntov like he walked on water. . .

There is no group of Men on this earth more annoying or pathetic than BMW badge whores.
Don't know if you're referring to me or not, but one look at the Corvette's repair record through the years is enough to question the "annoyance factor" of someone who defends them so vigorously. At one point (just before the C4), the Corvette was the heaviest car in the Chevrolet catalog - full-size Caprice included. They've made a lot of progress, but Chevrolet has left a lot of trashy baggage behind. It's a good car, but you defending them while you bash BMW's is really the most pathetic statement yet.

Have Fun,
Rick

P.S. Saying "Fail" doesn't make it so - I can back up my assertions with facts you can look up - if you want the truth. . . ;)

Hehehehe. Entry level land? How comical.

E-toughguy, the whole juvenile "My car has a fancier badge than yours!" bit, yet you're the one talking about entry level people, and entry level cars? :barf:

I don't think your post deserves much more of a reply than that. Though I must admit that I was a bit curious what sort of reply you'd have if I actually made any sort of cuttign personal remark!

Not sure what you've done to your car.. however the C6 Z51 recorded a Nurburgring time 6 seconds better than the E92 M3.

So, im not so sure you should be smack talking just yet
;)
And the good old and only 360BHP M3 CSL recorded a Nürburgring time 9 seconds better than the C6.

A trip to the Nordschleife would be great wouldn't it. I'm inviting you to come over and see what you can do with your fast car.:)
(I guess you own a C6/Z06/ZR1, please tell me)

Calling us badge whores in general isn't very nice sir but I forgive you once.

The C6 stock is the 325i of Corvettes. It's not surprising that BMW's professional race version of their marquee car can beat it. Not really a fair comparison.

Now a C6R would roll over an M3 CSL, EASY.

a corvette is chevy's "professional" race model as well
and a new c6 and m3 are relatively the same price so the compro is actually pretty legit, get your facts straight

C6R=Z06? Dunno?
If so then it will be an EASY 1 second off the CSL:)
Z06 7:49

Anyway. The Vette(which I don't hate!) is a great car for the Ring:Torque and HP make a fast laptime at the Ring(long straights)+ it's rather light. :cool!:

The M3 CSL was only produced to 1400 units, it featured an aggressive weight reduction program, anti-roll bars, stiffer spring rates, and semi-slick racing compound tires, carbon fiber parts throughout, and cost almost 3x as much as a stock C6 when it was released.

Secondly, the C6 stock is NOT Chevy's race ready version. You simply don't know much about cars.

The C6R is the race version of the C6, and is much lighter, the fuel tanks are centrally located for balance, and the car has more in common with the C6 Z06 (especially in the engine area).

Yeah, and the C6 spanks the M3 E92, and cost $10,000 less. So what?
