About damn time.

I hate taxes as much as the next guy, but if we get something out of it, its a good thing.

It takes more than taxes to run us out of here. We put up with earthquakes, fires, mud slides, riots and all sorts of crimes ....Tax ain't nothing, my man.

Is it even called a budget anymore? I would think they'd change the name to smoldering pile of crap.

We already pay high taxes compared to other states right? Higher taxes nullify that tax rebate of the stimulus plan no? Imma pack up my stuff and move to wyoming

They also have the highest population. Almost 13 million more then the number 2 highest populated state which is Texas.

We need more people to move out of California and less moving in.

Seriously, we've been constrained by mandatory spending for way too long. If they want anything to happen they need to either get more money or cut special interests. The voters have made it very clear during Arnie's tenure that they are confident that they can maintain the status quo by continually voting against pretty much every proposition put forward. Therefore, we have to raise taxes. If we didn't, instead of sending out Tax return IOUs next year, we'd be cutting social programs, teachers, etc.

The 10k tax rebate for new homeowners spread out over 3 years should do wonders for helping the lower income people cope with the higher taxes.

I hope.

budget for CA is sooo bad that next year my sister said that her school is cutting the school year off by 5 days. poor kids, its only hurting them, hindering their education. or they would have to lay off 60+ teachers in each district, thus making their classes bigger. it gonna be like a college class room of 40+ more students but with immature and disrespectful students that cant behave themselves. the class room is going to be in utter chaos. i feel bad for the teacher whos going to be teach a class room of 40+, 13-17yr old students. ):

what a load. that's the first thing the people in charge always say.
no more music, sports, etc. and we have to lay off firemen and police as well.
gets everybody all jizzed up.
it comes down to waste for the most part.
hows about combining some school districts for a start.
did you know that police are paid to get dressed for work?
entitlements are screwing it up. work till your an old fuck like the rest of us. don't give me that retirement crap at 50/55 with any of your pay. that's just wrong.

if they would just deport the prisoners that are illegal's that would take care of a good portion.
let's talk about those prison gaurds. one of the most influential unions besides those teachers we love so much. assuming you work, do you have tenure at your job?
do they pay you to put on your cloths?
the schools are messed up with all the "english learners".
"it's for the children" is always the cry at the ballot box.
