Hi guys,

So I'm on my prom committee for our senior prom in my school. I've been trying to find some good DJ's for mostly hip hop/ rap for the prom, but Haven't had any success. I've contacted power 106 (a radio station) and haven't gotten a response.

Does anyone know of any LEGIT DJ's that I could contact? our budget is in 1000-2000 range. Also, I am trying to stay away from DJ's who do 10 year old birthday parties,etc.

As a European I found the hip hop they played at my senior prom absolutely painful to listen to. Maybe it's a culture thing. I'll take good ol' Electro and Tribal House thank you very much.

Power 106 messaged me back saying they range from 600-2000 (2000 being DJ Felli Fel)

But yeah I'm very interested in the playboy mansion DJ HOOK ME UP

lol they aren't like celeb singers or anything, just dj's for 1 night which is huge however there are pretty good dj's out there but generally, the cheaper, the more amateur they are or newer and they need more time to get known I guess. Why don't you try asking some of the local clubs near LA and Hollywood for some contacts on dj's I'm sure they'll have ALOT considering how much clubbing goes on weekly. They're not bad either and play some good songs..dunno how they'd do at a HS prom though. I hear like some schools the principal or someone goes through the music list to make sure nothing "sexual" gets played

Let me call a few guys...

oh, and that 600-2000 price from Power106 only covers DJ costs. For an event like this, you are looking at another $2k easy in sound and lighting equipment rentals... this stuff aint cheap

i have thrown my fair share of parties in the past, so feel free to pm me if you need advice
