Only because of the doubt that was sewn from defending against murder 1.

We all know that it is a fact that Kaylee was neglected. Children that are adequately cared for do not kill themselves, duct tape themselves, stuff themselves in trashbags and roll down the street into a shady swamp.

To allow a child to go missing (and end up dead) while lying to police during an investagation should, in my book, constitute at least neglect.

(a) A person commits the offense of aggravated child abuse, aggravated child neglect or aggravated child endangerment, who commits child abuse, as defined in § 39-15-401(a); child neglect, as defined in § 39-15-401(b); or child endangerment, as defined in § 39-15-401(c) and:
(1) The act of abuse, neglect or endangerment results in serious bodily injury to the child

39-15-401. Child abuse and child neglect or endangerment. -

(a) Any person who knowingly, other than by accidental means, treats a child under eighteen (18) years of age in such a manner as to inflict injury commits a Class A misdemeanor; provided, however, that, if the abused child is eight (8) years of age or less, the penalty is a Class D felony.
(b) Any person who knowingly abuses or neglects a child under eighteen (18) years of age, so as to adversely affect the child's health and welfare, commits a Class A misdemeanor; provided, that, if the abused or neglected child is eight (8) years of age or less, the penalty is a Class E felony.(c) (1) A parent or custodian of a child eight (8) years of age or less commits child endangerment who knowingly exposes such child to or knowingly fails to protect such child from abuse or neglect resulting in physical injury to the child
If you can't piece that together, you shouldn't be in law.

Baez addressed and brought up Caylee in his presser, did the Prosecution? No.
The Defense just won a three year long case they all had been living. They have the right to celebrate if they want. Don't judge them as so many of you all had pre-judged Casey.

Their JOB was to poke holes in the story of the prosecution which was, unfortunately for Caylee, extremely easy to do given the lack of irrefutable evidence in this case.
Like KingOfJericho said, attorneys have to do their job. They step into the attorney "box" if you will, and do their job, irrespective of whether they "like" the particular case/client that they are dealing with. Attorneys have a duty to competently and professionally handle their clients' matters to the best of their abilities.

If you can't understand that, and you honestly think they were celebrating the fact that a little girl is dead, well then, "I can't do nothin' for ya son."

Sounds like the way to go. I could never have the mental strength to defend someone who is believed to be a killer. Props to those that do.

I would hate to have to defend a criminal. And the big bucks are usually made in corporate law (excluding Casey Anthony)

I'm sure my morals will be tested some in corporate, but I don't think it will as much in corporate as criminal. I couldn't defend a molester or murderer.

Plenty. You don't go into criminal defense or become a prosecutor or handle real estate transactions or pursue any particular area of practice, civil or criminal, if you don't like what you're doing.

I know criminal defense attorneys who have practiced for 25+ years and love their job. I know of a public defender who defended criminals for one period of time and then represented the police for a period of years before switching back.

You can't make broad-stroked, sweeping generalizations or assumptions about ANY profession. You can, I guess, but it doesn't make any sense.

So you want to be a lawyer? Good for you man, go for it. They are MANY, many areas of the civil law you can explore and focus on aside from "corporate" law, which encompasses several other fields as well (contract law, securities law, the list goes on and on).

Yep, I have wanted to be one since a kid but I didnt focus on it while I was playing sports. Now that I'm done I'm focused on becoming one. I love business, I love reading people(good for picking jurors), and I love debating. So I figured corporate would be a good one. Any insight would be appreciated though, always like to listen to others opinion in the field.

My only advice regarding that is whatever you decide to get into (which you will have a much better understanding of once you start to wind your way through law school), down the road, make sure you are comfortable when completely dissociating yourself with personal beliefs, feelings, etc. when you step inside the lawyer "box."

I can dissociate myself from most things, but certain things I dont think I could(child molesters etc...), but I shouldnt have an issue with business law.
