I think the cars need more downforce in the wet , another issue is the tire temp.
That's why they lose grip out of nowhere .. The situation is VERY tricky !

Max had his rear tyre on the white line momentarily there but he knows and acts quickly beforehand to give himself leeway to drive out making it look so easy.
The others were just crazy diving in there and hoping for the best.
