Louie came into my wifes hospital after being hit by a car. No chip, no one claimed him and he was going to be put down so we kept him....needless to say he's spoiled

Even though he got hurt, he was lucky at the same time meeting up with you guys since you took him in and gave him a good home. A dog can't ask for more than that.

It's a calico cat. It must be a female.

No, it does not. But it wasn't a language suggestion, it was a suggestion of an interesting fact.

Marty was sick all day and had his very first ever poop in the house since we brought him home 16 months ago.

I told him he was going to have to find a new family to live with, he could have our truck to go find them with.

I let him know all was forgiven before he drove away, but he wasn't at all amused with me punking him like that.

I repeatedly tell my pets they need to get jobs...

16 months is pretty damn good.

My pet always poops in the house. She's a cat, lol. She has 2 litter boxes. One for pee and the other for poop. She never makes a mistake - always goes in the appropriate box. I clean them every day. She appreciates that. She thanks me with a meow and a purr and a head butt (rub), and by never having an accident. If she did have one it would be forgiven.

My girl Samantha.

It's amazing to me too, our last Cav took forever to housebreak, and in 15 years, I never really could trust him completely. Lil Marty at 6 weeks old came to us only going outside for both, and learned to ring the sleigh bells when he needs to go in 2 weeks. The last guy never quite got it

Winston was really well trained as a puppy when we picked him up. The other 3 all needed at least some level of training. Then again, Winston is the one who shit in the car…

Accidents have mostly been due to illness / eating something they shouldn’t or our fault for not paying close enough attention. We haven’t tried the bell. That would be better than needing us to pay attention when they come up to “tell” us.

Try the bell with your next pack, in 15-20 years. You can't sleep through it if you fell asleep on the couch and the poor pups don't have to hold it until you notice "the look".

Mine comes up to me, stares deeply into my eyes to communicate, and since that rarely works, proceeds to jump up and down in one spot to let me know he'd like to go outside. Little hops kind of. Never jumps on you.

What's unnerving though is the rare times when he needs to go at 3am, to wake up suddenly to these soulful eyes staring at you literally inches away from your face when seconds ago you were in deep sleep. Because he's just tall enough to be about eye level with the bed.

He's a good dog though!

All my dogs are in doggie heaven, had 4 at one time for a while. I don't think any of them ever had "accidents" in the house. They were very good at going to the door and making it very obvious "Hey dude, open the damn door, now!"

Had a dog in the 80s. His name was Zach and he was a Golden Retriever mix. He was so good. At bedtime he would go lay down on his spot on the couch and when I got up in the morning he was still there waiting for me. Then he'd run to the back door and say "please let me out now." So good.

Very cute!

Does the bigger one have a Rex coat, or is it partially Rex?

^^ Thank you! Hiccup is the adult French Bulldog - he doesn’t have a Rex coat, his black/Merle certainly makes it look that way tho.
