It's somewhat a matter of opinion as to which model was the first "production" Ferrari, but a case can be made for the 1956 250GT Boano Berlinetta seen here. I believe Ferrari claimed 240 hp for the 3-liter V-12 but the reality was somewhat less. 68 were built in 1956-1957. Headroom in the Boano was limited, and the model was succeeded by a very similar 250GT Ellena (last photo) with a slightly higher roof in 1957. 50 Ellenas were built.
The Boano/Ellena would be replaced by the 250GT Pininfarina Berlinetta, which really got Ferrari going.
