The first series-produced Ferrari with an automatic transmission (a 3-speed sourced from General Motors) was the 400 Automatic. The 400 was introduced in 1979 and in production through 1984. 1,305 were built and the split between manual and automatic favored the automatic by two-thirds. Initially the 4.8-liter V-12 used six 2-barrel carburetors and gave 310 hp, but the final few years saw the adoption of fuel injection and an increase to 340 hp. This 1984 car was an automatic with fuel injection. These luxurious and heavy GTs were not sold new in the USA but have found their way in over the years.

This '84 400 is Blu Scuro (Midnight Blue) with Crema leather and has only 22,000 miles. In 2017, when offered for sale in the U.S. by a private party, the asking price was $95,000. As is often the case with Ferraris, the 2+2 cars are a relative bargain.

The 400 was replaced in 1985 by the Ferrari 412 with an almost identical body, a 4942cc V-12 also rated at 340 hp and the introduction of ABS.

The 1909 Thomas Flyer 6-40 Tourer was a standout in its day for high performance. It accommodated seven passengers and featured a 267 cubic inch six of 72 horsepower. Despite its successes, the company went bust in 1913.

Nice find. That car does move quite well.

Here's a rare bird -- a 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Lakewood wagon.

With the rear engine configuration, I suspect the luggage compartment floor is high and perhaps gets a bit warm.

I know exactly what to say. They were taking pictures of the wrong car. The Topaz Blue E46 manual with silver Brembo calipers and BBS LM-R's was the car to take pix of. Luckily I found the car on BaT for all to enjoy.

2020 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Italia. Too bad they never made this car in manual. What a shame.

1949 Ferrari 166 from my past weekend at The Highlands Motoring Festival. What a hoot.

The one behind it in the second picture is a re-bodied 1958 250. Talked with the owner for a while the day before the show. He drives the snot out of it. 30+ racing events in Colorado amongst many other driving events. Rare to see either such an incredibly rare and valuable vehicle. Hats off.

Of all the BMWs that I've owned since 1994, the E46 M3 is my favorite: Excellent performance and classic good looks. Mine was a 2005 manual in BMW Individual Sterling Grey with Imola Red leather. If only I could have kept it forever...

My first car was a 1964 Corvair Monza with the base 95 HP engine,
4-speed manual, 2-door. I bought it used with 80k miles on the clock.
I did a fair amount of work on the car including tubing headers, dual
exhaust, carefully syncing the dual carburetors, plus chased a few
rattles. I could beat some of the stock higher HP Corvairs. Mine was
beige.
