Wow pretty crazy quali so far:

1) the w13 is absolutely trash, well at least for Hamiltons setup in the very least as he was out in Q1. Merc needs to bring some changes.

2) hope Mick is ok, this track was always sketchy.

3) Leclerc out qualified Sainz like I said he would...

4) Perez on pole! Very nice, gold job Checho.

5) max in p4, pretty crazy he got out qualified by Checho by 0.261 seconds. He will have alot of work to do tomorrow as he's got 2 fast Ferraris ahead.

6) George dragged his w13 to p6, pretty respectable since the w13 is quite the handful, but then again he's been dragging crap cars into qualifying spots higher than the car is capable of since Williams so good for george.

My thoughts exactly. Russ had been driving that crap Williams up the grid where it didn't belong. He is use to poor handling cars. The Merc is clearly a handful this weekend, Ham just seems dumbfounded by the balance of the car. Their setups can't be that far off, if at all.

Max was sure having trouble with getting temp in the soft tires. Ham didn't like them either.

This is already an awesome season.
Both Ferrari and RB being so close.
Checo on pole, but Charles being an excellent starter.

Lets hope for a race with no crashes and no mechanical defects.

This is like the beginning of the hybrid era. When Merc was an easy .750+ sec clear of the rest of the field. Luckily with these regs, it is two teams setting top times. Everyone behind Ferrari and RB are basically .9+ sec behind.

Merc down on power seems to be a reality. The barn door rear wing excuse is no longer viable.

They are losing massive amount of time on straights to top teams.

An incident involving VER was 'noted'. I guess it relates to the early stage of Q3: VER overtaking LEC, subsequently surprisingly not accelerating, requiring LEC to overtake him: will FIA consider this impeding LEC ? No summons so far.

I heard it has to do with track limits, might be driving over line entering pit lane. He wasn't the only one doing it.

great job by checo. just watched a video on his last place to first at Bahrain last year. amazing.

if anything this season should highlight how much of this game is due to the right car and engineers. with drivers playing a smaller part. i still feel alonso is one of the best out there... if not the best.

According to Motorsport Italy, Merc is expecting a new floor possibly in time for Australian GP. A complete aero package upgrade by Barcelona.

This would be Merc's second new floor.
