Every one else got it right (except MB). They also missed a chance to go on full wets and make up a lot of time. It was no secret that the heavy rain was going to be around for quite awhile and that a red flag or a full safety car was a very large possibility. Lando/McLaren seem to always get the wet strategy wrong. Giving track position to your main rival for the WDC isn’t a good idea with all the previous being known. Max brings it home safe it seals the WDC, was time for McLaren to make some bold decisions to try and make a dent in the points, instead they played it safe and you have what you have now.

That’s another scenario to consider, but they already said that pitting Lando and Russell was correct decision - it was just timing and all the events in that short window between confirming pitting and the end of the safety car because of the marshals helping HUL.

Clearly it was the wrong move with COL causing the red flag right after the safety car ending.
