Not sure what generation run flats are the most recent anymore, but the first and second generation were absolutely horrible. They've gotten significantly better in terms of ride and tire noise. It's a great safety feature, but I think I still prefer normal tires with a spare in the trunk.

This is both my first experience with a BMW, as well as run flat tires; so far, no complaints. Now, my X5 did come with the space saver spare too. Roads in Massachusetts are about the worst I ever drove on (NJ a close second), so I’ll be interested to see how the run flats hold up.
