Unskilled? wtf would the "unskilled" workers be doing at the top of that building....there called iron workers, very skilled. Not the brightest people in world, but, have balls the size of a Volkswagen Beetles. They are in the "connecting" crew. There are no building trade unions in Dubai. All contractors are from outside countries and most of the workers are too. The hourly rate for these tradesmen is in the range of 30-80 dollars an hour full package. With the Dubai government giving lofty bonuses to all workers for a number of reasons. I worked in Kuwait after operation desert storm. I had to agree to a 1 year contract to stay in the country. I am a union construction electrician. All the rules of overtime and bennies are applied to your contract. One amazing thing is that you don't pay any home income taxes when you work outside the USA. In one year and 2 months I made over 200 grand tax free.

A building that high would freak me out...regardless of how structurally rigid it may be. I would stick to going up as high as the 2nd floor thank you!

haha, that would be sweet if you have like a corporate meeting office on the top floor and when you had your big time business deal meetings you stuck the guys you were trying to buy out in a row of chairs right next to the windows to scare the shit outta them and just make 'em wanna finish the deal and get the hell outta there!

Elevators shut down in case of fire...so you have to run down all those stairs...they should have a fireman pole, that goes from 2600 ft up....that would be fun, sliding down that pole for 1/2 mile...you'll get a boner for sure
