There are a few Oakley shades I lust after. There are much more Ray Bans though.

Speaking of sunglasses, has anyone tried drivewear lenses?

They are transitions that change for cloudy to sunny conditions.

I wanna get some new lenses for them though. Thinking black iridium polarized or VR28's polarized. I would have expected the glasses the OP posted to be in line with this price point at $335-500. Guess not LOL

Nothing but oakleys for me.
Best sunglasses EVER. I've had my X-metal Juliet for over 8 years. Just got a kit to replace all the gooey rubber. Good as farking new again The replaceable lenses and rubber pieces really makes it practical to keep these glasses a long time as you can replace any part that wears out.

I've also never had anything attract so many random people -- I get compliments all the time. I love these glasses.

Yeah, I've had mine for about 8 years as well. I didn't start wearing them regularly until about 1.5 years ago though. At times they felt too heavy and hurt my nose and could never get over that until I made up my mind that I'm wearing them regardless and now I love them. I have to buy 2 sets of replacement rubber pieces as well. We were going on a cruise in the spring and I lost a nose piece, luckily we were staying the night prior in Miami with a friend and we went to the O-store to get a set cuz the set I ordered online didn't have a chance of coming on time. I need a new set of lenses deperately. The originals are starting to be in bad shape.

I'm reminded of something a wise old man told me.

I can't remember the specifics.

Ok, whatever floats YOUR boat. But I think you'd have to be >80 to like Ray Ban's. Stick with those old-man Aviators or Wayfarer's. I expect you'll be driving an old man's car soon too.

Of course, when I look at the Ray Ban website, I wonder what kindergartner designed their site's color scheme....

Additional info that I didn't know:
Ray Ban and Oakley are owned by the SAME company! Luxottica.....

I can imagine the meetings about brand positioning and demographics:
Ray Ban's are for the old folks who don't like a lot of change (Wayfarers for example)
Oakley's are for the younger crowd that like style AND substance!

I had many pairs of Oakleys when I was much younger. Now a days I have a pair of Spy's and Arnette's that I wear usually. Great sunglasses that are under 200 bucks.

I have to admit, Oakley sold out when they got bought out by Luxottica. I was working for them at the time. They used to have videos/tests on their site showing how inferior the Rayban optics and lens quality were compared to Oakley's. Those were taken down once they were bought out.

Oakley aesthetics aside, they make the best sunglasses on the market. But most people don't realize how many styles of Oakley's there are. There are a lot of very professional/classy looking sunglasses as well and they all have top quality optics.

Ok, never knew you were so damn passionate about some shades. Sorry for offending your brand. As far as I know, nobody my age digs Oakleys. Everyone loves Ray Bans, but w/e. I think Oakleys look fitting on 40-50 year olds that are trying to look intense and are still stuck in the 90's-early '00s.

These are what I have. They don't have spikes and random shit coming out of them.

I guess you are stuck in some time fold in the early 90's if you haven't seen a modern pair of Oakley's. They have a full range of sunglasses now. You've probably seen them, but failed to realize they were Oakley's because your view of the brand hasn't changed.
