True, we don't get all the cool things other places get, but McDonalds does have some new Secret Menu items for us:

My annual red meat last night. I love it, it doesn't love me. 14 ounce filet with chili crunch and garlic butter. Green chili whipped potatoes, and a very nice sunset.

Soup du jour: asparagus velouté
Recipe from Bruno Albouze

With home made whole wheat bread. I wanted the asparagus garnish to float for a nice presentation, but it had other ideas!

Really nice flavor combinations with asparagus, celery, shallots, garlic and spinach. A touch of cream and butter to smooth out the emulsion. Based on home made chicken stock, made last night. Fresh grapes for dessert.

Thank you. I wasn't planning on doing them tonight, but when shopping for dinner stuff to grill, they looked fantastic. Big fat stems, and they squeeked right, if you know what I mean. My mom called and I over steamed them a bit, but still delicious off the fire! Kabobs were dynamite, also.
