Marko is pushing Checo so he has to make such statements in the media. But I expect if Max continues to win, Checo will remain on the team.

Checo’s racecraft is good but for some odd reason he struggles with Sainz. Maybe it’s the Spain vs Mexico undercurrent.

Checo is safe through '23 but he needs to up his pace a bit to keep going after that. He started out well this year but where Max has progressed with the car he doesn't seem to have gained near as much and the gap is getting wider again. He has done a good job in the 2nd seat - 2nd in points behind the defending world champion isn't too shabby - but whereas Max is starting to pull away in overall pace Checo seems to be still struggling with both Ferraris & now possibly the Mercs have caught him. And mistakes are starting to happen too. I agree I think Marko is sounding off right now to try to motivate Checo - but usually when he starts doing that the first signs of smoke start to show up.

I heard that as well. Max's engine is only two races old so I seriously don't see them using another so quickly. Maybe they deploy another for COTA, if at all.

It would make sense strategically for Max and Checo to take another PU. BUT RBR last win in Monza was with Piloti Vettel, so I can’t see it happening.

Max wants to add Monza to track wins.

Max has two new engines IIRC. He took an engine penalty before Spa as well.

The Queen passing is a huge loss. In the UK there is only news on the Queen and of course more about the new King. She was an incredible woman with so many strengths and to lead for over 70 years, 15 Prime Ministers and evolve through the times has been incredible.

She will be sorely missed, the pomp and pageantry over the coming days and weeks for the funeral and coronation will be staggering I’m sure. As a Monarch, Mum, Grandmother and so much more she is admired and respected across the planet. RIP Queen Elizabeth.

I’m assuming that in light of the Queen passing away that for F1 things will continue as normal. However some sports are suspending activity on Friday as a show of respect.
