The proportions alone have me worried… it ‘looks’ heavy and boat-like. I’ll reserve judgement until it’s officially unveiled though.

You can’t go by the model year alone on these types of things because that’s not how BMW operates when it comes to production feature changes. Unless your i4 was recently built, you probably have the older head unit (MGU21/HU-H4) and are in the same position as me with no upgrade path. You may want to look at the last two images (full screen):

I guess this confirms my sighting in Santa Clara, CA. I saw one driving done the freeway all wrapped up.
I guess the new M5 hybrid is coming, wished it would have been the wagon version. Still wouldn’t mind this car! Lol |

Yes! Thank you. You have been right about pretty much everything else. I look forward to seeing the G99 on US streets. I might even get one however as it creeps past 160k I will start to rethink my choice.

I don’t know if this is true. BMW USA’s instagram just posted an entire M5 Touring tease video recently. Emphasis on USA |

Looks beautiful & much better then the flat fendered regular 5 series. Hope they can make some revision to those boring tail lights.

I'm afraid about the performance more than its design.
718 hp for at least 400lb weight gain doesn't look that good. It is only a very small gain in power to weight ration compared to the current M5. Moreover, the XM powertrain doesn't look that promising. Almost all reviews called negative things about it. |
