With the VDX being a "close look at what to expect from the Neue Klasse vehicles" (their words) I kind of expected the i3 to be more compact than this as well.

It's all hard to tell. The (pretty rad) camouflage is making it difficult to proper assess what's going on with size and design. Whatever! Still looking forward to that i3 and the rest of the Neue Klasse vehicles (i4 coupe especially!).

i3 looks small-ish, maybe smaller than G20?

Either way, these two are definitely an improvement on the Mitsubushi/Lincoln clone VDE BMW showcased at the Shanghai auto show last month!

I think the shorter hoods are throwing off size perceptions

Yeah, calling it the i3 when it was really more of an i1/i2 in terms of size and shape was very strange branding. I'm glad this mistake is finally being rectified.

I really appreciate how there isn't that much visual difference between a petrol 5-series and an i5 (G60) for instance. I love EVs but I don't love how some OEMs apply their most outlandish designs to them while still letting sane people design their ICE cars.
