I don't know where else to put this.....I coworker from a long time ago took advantage of MAiD, Medically Assistance in Death this morning, a true Gentleman. He was involved in a serious car accident a few years back that left him a paraplegic in ongoing pain. I came across this quote from Anthony Bordaine and I think it puts it all into perspective. Looks good either way, and I'll bet it will be an absolute blast at that weight.

When I bought the car for my wife it had a 999 cc engine, ran ok but I'm guessing 35 HP, a few years later we were giving it its first face lift. New front fenders, and a few other parts. The guy I was getting the parts from had been building and fixing Mini's for decades, we ended up buying the Mini-lite wheels from him, disc brakes and the engine/trans. That engine is a 1275, it had a performance head and cam, with a proper header and a few other parts. It was making about 120 hp.

During this rebuild the engine got a complete rebuild including bored .30 over, so it's now about 1300 cc and all tightening up. New oil pump, carb rebuilt, valve springs.

My wife doesn't care about the power so much, she wants a reliable, drivable car. She will have it, and it'll have power for safely merging on the highway.....and then some.
