A few weeks ago I scraped the passenger side of my truck on the side of he carport.

Last night, I swear I had just looked at that rear quarter of my wife's Highlander, but guess what got dragged along the side of the house.

I apparently traumatized the dog who was riding shotgun when I screamed. I'm not sure if it was the scream, or the actual grating noise on the house, that brought my wife from the kitchen.

I'm not that bad yet, but I constantly knock stuff over with my right hand when I'm moving it from my right side. Or I smack it against a door frame or some such thing. I can't actually detect a peripheral vision issue, but 9 times out of 10, if I'm moving my right hand left or right at waist level, I'm going to hit something. Eye doc has done those peripheral vision tests and says mine is fine, but I wonder.

The first sign of glaucoma is often vision loss. Generally to your peripheral vision, which is also known as side vision or tunnel vision. My ophthalmologist thought I was a candidate for it years ago so I get tested for it every year. So far my peripheral vision is excellent. My symptom was elevated eye pressure, which is normal at the present time.

There are a lot of kids out on bikes/scooters in my neck of the woods. I’m surprised at how little kids look these days.

Have you asked your primary care doctor about this? I have similar problems, and suspect that it is carpal nerves triggering and making a quick involuntary jerk as I'm moving my arm.....

I think it's more a vision issue with me, or just plain clumsiness. It's just odd that it's always my right side.

Started with a Timex-Sinclair 1000. Second computer was a Commodore 64.
Really loved that computer. Dual external floppy drives, plus a dot-matrix
printer. I ran an inventory control application on it for my business.

I boxed up my son's Commodore 64 when he had moved on to more modern gear. I've got all of it; screen, keyboard, floppy drive, loads of games. We keep threatening to get it out and have a Commodore 64 game party. My personal favorites were LeMans and Pinball. Why were these games my favorites? I could whip both my kids at these two games.

We had friends who ran a flight simulator app on home hardware. It took over 20 minutes to load the software! And then it was almost ASCII art on the screen.

Speaking of ASCII there was another game they had access to. They were programming nerds for GE Aerospace and had mainframe terminals at home. There was a text-based game called "Colossal Cave Adventure." You navigated through the cave using commands such as "GO LEFT", and clues were given after each move such as:

YOU ARE STANDING AT THE END OF A ROAD BEFORE A SMALL BRICK BUILDING. AROUND YOU IS A FOREST. A SMALL STREAM FLOWS OUT OF THE BUILDING AND DOWN A GULLY.

YOU ARE IN A MAZE OF TWISTY LITTLE PASSAGES, ALL DIFFERENT.

That was the brand I smoked from age 18 to 22. I was up over 2 packs a day. Back then smoking was the cool thing to do and I jumped in with both feet. I got up to 2 pack a day.

The ads were everywhere. There were characters smoking on the TV shows and in the movies. Regardless of the surgeon general warning, smoking was everywhere.

One morning I woke up after a party the night before and I felt like $hit. Too much drinking and too much smoking. I looked in the mirror and said, "What the fk are you doing!?". That very day I quit the cigarettes cold turkey. Once of the best decisions of my life.

Maybe so. I'll let you know when I finally get around to getting it out. I'm really interested the games, not the floppy discs. The games were on cartridges that I plugged in as I recall.
