Was hoping for a better opener from FTWD, but I guess I'll watch next week. Seemed like a re-hash of the "people need help, let's pick them up...oh no wait, should we?" theme from WD.

I find watching these shows TWD / FTWD live just drags on forever and 95% of the time I feel like I watched half a show.

I'm waiting for the season to be over then binge watching.

There are way too many Carls in Fear the Walking Dead for my liking. Alicia being the biggest one...cat fished in the apocalypse...well done.

From the opening until the episode’s final five minutes, there’s very little substance or action in the season two premiere. Yes, Chris punches his father Travis for killing his mother. They dump her body into the ocean. Strand decides not to help a lot of other people on the ocean. Nick declares that he is good at medical stuff. Alicia meets some guy named Jack on the radio. Daniel catches an eel while fishing. They all share a nice meal.

But, as has been the case from the beginning on Fear the Walking Dead, none of this really feels important. There’s no weight to it. The show does almost nothing to make us care about characters or to move the plot forward. A boy is mad his mother died. A lonely girl makes a friend. A survivor acts selfishly. It’s all just the most basic, predictable shit imaginable. In a single episode, the characters can’t even make it 100 miles to San Diego.

The big problem with Fear the Walking Dead is that these characters are flat. None of them are particularly distinctive. They’re just normal people. Flawed? Scared? Yes! But ultimately normal. They’re the background characters on the Atlanta Walking Dead. Characters who are disposable in a big action scene. Only Fear the Walking Dead doesn’t have those, so everyone survives.

I fully expect FTWD season 2 to be as horrendous as season 1. Yes it could have been about the breakdown of los Angeles. No it is not about that at all. It's a generic zombie experience with annoying characters. I guess we haven't seen the whole live on a boat thing though.

I'm more hopeful for TWD.

I thought last nights episode was better than the opener. The group is starting to see the brutally of the new world. We get to see a small reveal on Strand. Why would he take them to Mexico and then possibly kill the group? Travis is still too much a pussy for this world. He needs to Rick-up.

fear the walking dead? it started off slow with the "oh not all of this again" mindset. so far its not as good but i would hope one day these 2 shows might end up meeting each other in another state if thats even a possibility lol

It's too perfect. They've teased Glenn's death to us how many times? They won't end his misery just yet.

People who have talked about the victim said it shook them to their core, it was unthinkable....to me that screams they kill pregnant Maggie.

Who wants another baby in the show anyway? Maggie, however badass she may be, is dead weight and uninteresting with the baby. Her and Glenn have been through hell and back. So many key characters on this show have lost their significant others.....let's just say there are NO hard rules to who can and can't be killed (aside from Rick and to some extent, Daryl and Michone).

Watched "fear" last night. Total dud for me. I sure hope Walking Dead is better than last years finale!
