I guess you don't, but the overwhelming majority of our members and visitors want accurate information. Your post defending them appears to be a bit odd. The producer of the video clearly had no clue since the graphic also said the M60e will get a V8 or it is just clickbait for views. As you noted, there is a difference between an M60 and M60e. For what t is worth, they used the same video with a title of 2026 X5M.

I replied based on the screenshot you attached hence why I said that the guy made a mistake. I'm not defending anyone here. He also explained what was happening in the video in the description.

Are you saying that was the M60 with the V8? If that is the case then I will say that the issue is just they had a very poor graphic. Either way though, the original post is correct concerning the information they presented. If any of our members made that mistake, people would jump on them and certainly YT posters should be the same. You are fairly new to the forum. You will see that people here do not like or tolerate misinformation.

Edit: I listened to the video and they have multiple vehicles in the video. There is a quad exhaust at the beginning of the video (does sound like a V8) and then have one with no exhaust which would be the iX5.

Price wise, do you think the BEV m70 will sit in between the m60 v8 and x5M ?

possible range extender EV for the x5

https://www.bmwblog.com/2025/06/06/b...ending-engine/

Quote:
The forthcoming 2026 BMW X5 Range Extender pairs a battery-electric drivetrain with a compact petrol generator to deliver continent-crossing reach without charging anxiety. BMW says the newcomer, developed with long-standing partner ZF, will run well beyond 600 miles before a brief refuel tops the tank and restores the pack, giving drivers the silent surge of an EV and the back-up of a combustion engine in one seamless package.

From the second link: "Inside, expect BMW’s curved dual-screen dashboard with Operating System 9,". I wouldn't think there would be anyway that will be the case. It will have iDX and the panoramic view.

Concur.
A range extender would be very exciting on either the x5 or x7.

My guess is eventually it may happen but likely not until MY29 or 30.

Excitement can be good or bad. Seeing how $$$$$ repairs are for hybrids makes it a bit scary too. Maybe a car to lease.

In case you haven't seen it, the embargo was lifted on the iX3 test drives so we can see a lot of the Neue Klasse/panoramic interior. The interior, while materials were not finalized, is more or less what we expected.

As far as buttons go, I think this paragraph by BMWBLOG sums it up: "Traditional controls like the familiar iDrive controller and gear shifter are gone, replaced by minimalist interfaces echoing recent BMW interior design philosophy. If you think we don’t have a lot of buttons today, then you’re in for a surprise with Neue Klasse; even climate and ventilation settings had migrated completely into the new digital iDrive X interface. Door panel controls remained familiar, while seat adjustment functions resembled those in the BMW iX."

In case you are interested, here is a thread on the X3 forum with more reviews and videos. Overall it seems to be very well received.

Ooooof. This is not for me. How am I supposed to see the screen by the windshield? Plus, if I wanted a full touchscreen car I'd have bought a Tesla.

I really don’t like the look of this interior. I can’t be the only one who doesn’t want this Tesla-style inside?

Was thinking about next gen X5M but this may push me to get a late model before they switch it.

Also….why don’t they add a rear view live video mirror if they are updating tech etc?

Bc isn’t it obvious, they are trying to cheapen everything. Adding something would oppose that philosophy

I could see that too. I’d prob be fine with the exterior. Will look more modern and still aggressive as an m sport - interior tho- no shot.

609 miles of range! Seems like a lot of battery to haul around but definitely would be less range anxiety for those of us who life in the western US with the wide open spaces. Also would help those in frigid climates.

The battery isn't any larger as far as I know.
