Yep.
McLarens will finish 1-2, again, same as in Miami.
Max and Russell will fight it out for 3-4.

Even if Max had managed to steal the pole, the race results will not have changed.

Max is simply a monster. How he puts that car P2 when both the Mclarens and the MB are much faster cars is beyond me.
Yuki proving to be a big liability today, but glad he is ok. As I have said, the RB21 would maybe be a P10 car at best without Max. It could be Lec, Ham, Nor, Pia, Sai, Rus, etc. They would all be helpless driving the cars RB produces.

you will know tomorrow whether that's true or not. i won't know which car is faster until the race is done. seems to vary from race to race.

re: qualifying, some cars can produce a good one lap. eg the Hulk qualifies in the top 10 quite regularly last year but always finishes outside the top 10.

not to say Max is not Max, but I don't know how they can say the car is terrible when Max is regularly in the podium.

the car seems undriveable for anyone who is not Max but maybe it's built for Max (according to commentators). i don't know, i'm not an F1 driver.

in the past races we had McLaren fastest, and then a group behind eg Merc, RB, Ferrari (although I'm not sure what happened today). the RB is not terrible, just not the fastest.

I think Hadjar might have a chance on that RB seat next year.
So my guess is that next year they either ditch Tsunoda or Lawson, give Lindblad a seat at VCARB, and promote HAD to RB.
I think Lindblad has enough points this year on his superlicense to enter F1.

I mean RB doesnt build a car for Max. They build the fastest car they can. It just so happens Max is the only one in F1 who can drive it with that pace, but that is down to ability and nothing more, nothing less. I am not sure it's not terrible either - even Max complains about it, but he is just a very agile and capable driver. He set a Ring lap record earlier this week on a track he's never driven, in a car he also doesnt know well. How many others in the world could do it, probably none, or at best very few.

This Hadjar fella has raw pace. When he can figure out how to race in a procession he'd be a keeper. Unfortunately Lawson seems to like to bump and push and that hasn't worked. Also doesn't help that he can't string a good lap in qualifying.

Tsunoda is a Honda pay driver, so he's definitely not going to be with RB next year.

also unluckiest guy is Bearman, he registered the 10th fastest time in Q1 but the red flag came out just as he crossed the finish line, so his lap was then deleted and he didn't make it into Q2. must be miliseconds!

Wow, four different teams in the top 5, it's so rare to see competition like this in F1. Oscar and Max had a great session, poor Lando is shook! Ferrari is just in the trash, you hate to see it.

Fantastic to see Alonso in the top 5, not sure where that came from but quite the improvement for this race at least. Interested to see how he does in the race though because it always seems like AM falls back.

Finally an upgrade for Aston that was not actually a downgrade.

It’s the first upgrade done in the new facility wind tunnel.

Maybe Newey was on his coffee break and spotted a few things.

The Aston was very quick on the straights, I believe 2nd quickest from the stats I saw. That’s usually the car’s biggest problem. Fernando and Lance were on used mediums for Q3 too. This is good. I’m happy again. Ask me again after the race though.

Oscar looking the goods. He had a lot of traffic on that lap.

Last week it was Williams quicker than Ferrari. This week it’s Williams and Aston quicker than Ferrari. Blimey.

Next year maybe but definitely not this year.. knee-jerk decisions are going to cost them, just my opinion.
