The Cougar & the Turkeys
Almost the same spot in the garden, just opposite angle. B&W is a security cam capture. The birds are much bigger than they look in that photo.

That security camera capture is the only time we have seen it, or any evidence of it. We got a lot of deer, and they like to graze there. There is also a little trail that cuts through there, so it makes some sense that the cat might transit through there or be prowling in that part of the garden. It’s off the road, and where the deer graze.
And I agree, it is a powerful looking animal. And something that I don’t imagine would like to be surprised. For months after it was seen on that security camera, I definitely had an extra look over to that part of the garden before walking out around there. |

Good news, I have a healthy baby bluebird from one of the broods in my yard.
Bad news, this raccoon just strolled through and does not look good |

Bluebird brood #2 for the year. The female will probably lay another egg or two before she starts to incubate them.

This is a crazy one. From a security camera looking at the driveway in front of the garage. A coyote has gotten inside a 5’ high fence. And then on top of a large juniper bush.
There isn’t a small anything near this bush for the coyote to ladder up with. I don’t know how it got up there, or why. And I wouldn’t have thought the juniper bush would support the animal’s weight, because up top it’s just slim branches. I guess the coyote must have jumped, and then managed to perch up there. Bottom photo is same camera during the day. With a bonus squirrel. |

A week or two afer this pic was taken, this guy came tearing around the corner of the house chasing a sparrow, while I was sitting on the patio. They were heading straight toward me until they each did a u-turn. I saw some pretty impressive open talons a bit closer to my face than I wanted. They went back around the corner then, so I don't know if the chase or the escape was the successful effort.
