Cooper (far left) and Stella (far right) hanging out with their buddies Charlie & Murphy on Halloween. Didn't have a costume for them so threw a Christmas sweater on Cooper and a spider bandana on Stelly. Shocked that they all posed for a picture. Also not sure how the picture got on my phone since I didn't take it lol but nonetheless I can't complain!

Cats live to 18? Irma gerd! In 2009 we went to the pet store to get a second ginea pig to keep our one company. We picked one out and was checking out and the gal at the counter said ginea pigs are very territorial and don’t get along well. So we put it back.

Then we started playing with the kittens and ended up taking home a brother and sister. Never owned a cat, always had dogs. One died this year of cancer. The other one is chugging along. We just became empty nesters and figured Wilbur might make it to 14. Then we can start traveling in our RV. Well, today I find out he can live to 18? I guess he’ll have to come along with us.

My vet's oldest cat patient is 25. Just had Vivi in for a full exam a couple months back, and the vet says her lab results look like a cat 10 years younger. Only issues so far have been a couple teeth that went bad and had to be extracted. So she needs softer food nowadays, but a little bit of experimentation got us a solution to that. And she has an eye condition whose name I can't recall that causes her pupils to fail to constrict much so she has to squint if there's lots of sun coming in the patio door.

She adopted me in August of '02, when I found her newborn in my garage one evening.

My boy Tigger (the tabby) just pulled chocks last month-- he was just shy of 23 years old.

He had gotten a (mostly) clean bill of health from the vet a few weeks earlier and while we were on vacation for a week, he apparently got up out of his heated basket, took a few steps, and just..... called it a day.

My neighbor who was taking care of our three (now two) boys called us in tears.

I miss him every day. 23 years is a long time to have a kitty, and he was a great cat-- whenever I came home from a trip, he'd hear the garage door open and would meet me at the door expecting the "pets" that were his due for waiting for me.

Sigh.

A lot of people don't appreciate that a cat, at least some cats, act like a puppy dog with their owners.

If you want to keep two or three toddlers together (in a herd) I'd go for the border collie! But they're not low shedders.....

Wish Apollo luck tomorrow. He goes in to have fatty deposits removed from around a "sensitive" area. But other than that, the vet said he can't tell if it's a two year old or an 11-year-old border collie. We think he's 11.

Look into Vizslas. Super smart, gentle, friendly, and energetic; not at all aggressive. Caveat: they need regular exercise and/or some space to run in.

So- SCREW SCAMMERS.

My kitty cat died about six weeks ago-- he was pushing 23 years or so.

His playmate (a 9 year-old Russian Blue) has been mopey ever since, they were very, very bonded together.

So, we decided to look for another Russian Blue kitten for him to bond to and play with.

Was looking around the internets, and found someone who had a litter of kittens and had photo's on his website. We decided we liked two of them and started a conversation via email, phone and text. He even sent us a video of the kitten and used my name on it.

You see where this is going, right?

My radar were twitchy, so I did some deep digging, and he's a rip-off artist who's gotten at least several thousand dollars out of people. What type of arse does that over KITTENS? There's a special circle of hell for people like that.

I was going to fly out and pick them up next week, but obviously, that's not going to happen. He's been pimping me lately to send him a "deposit" over Google Pay, Cash App or Zelle-- of course, he doesn't take PayPal.

His physical address is bogus, his phone is probably a burner, and his email is probably a throw-away. I'm going to report him to the Internet Crime Complaint Center, but that'll do bupkis.

So, now I have to research for a kitten that actually exists, and this arse will just go on scamming other people.

I wish I could fry him-- Grr!

At least I figured it out without sending any money (although he's still waiting).

Wow, what a low-life. Should be staked down and have his nether regions liberally slathered with liverwurst and a pack of starved dachshunds turned loose on him.

About 10 years ago, a friend of mine said that every single ad on puppyfind.com was a Nigerian advanced-fee scammer...who left the USA to do missionary work in Africa and took the 8-week-old puppy with him.....

I've had four cats since I bought my own house-- all four were strays/pound/rescue kitties.

All but one of them have had..... issues. We loved them anyway, but it usually wasn't quite what we signed up for.

The other cat we still have is a gorgeous rescue, but he's got the brains of a trout and mostly hates everyone-- including our other cat, myself and my wife. We call him our "problem child".

My wife's had her heart set on an another Russian Blue since a few days after we got the first one (he's an AMAZING cat!)-- so, we're leaning towards getting one from a cattery, hoping that lightning strikes twice.

We got one of these for Ginger when she got spayed. Worked well. Easier for her to navigate, eat and drink than the cone.
