lawn mower drivetrains
over the weekend, i learned that even on lawn mowers, fwd sucks.
i just bought and used for the first time my craftsman fwd propelled mower over the weekend after some rain so the grass was still damp. as soon as i hit the throttle on the mower, the front wheels just spun and spun, ripping our all the grass in that one spot and dug a hole in my lawn while the mower was completely stationary. so basically, i had to push the thing myself to get it going. i paid extra for the motor propelled model so i wouldnt have to push the stupid thing. i shouldve paid a bit more for the rwd version. anyone else with experience with these things? is the rwd version any better on wet grass? |

I have two lawn mowers and the one that is rear wheel driven is far better than the front wheel drive.

In some parts of India they put hot charcoal into an iron to heat it up for ironing clothing... actually saw this recently on The Amazing Race.

They still make those. I actually think they're pretty badass. And if you have a townhome with a really small yard they make a lot of sense.
