shoei wrotePenal colony stuck in the 1800s still locking down for wuHan FLU.We were all celebrating this in another thread. Sadly it was in one of those threads that aren't as fun and uplifting as others lol.
But the consensus is, yes, we're all excited. Shit hasn't made sense in decades. Sure, after WWI I get it. Ration that shit you used to put into lamps. Kerosene? Also, once digital clocks became a thing, they should've scrapped it.
Australia though? Now that one's a cluster lol
scostu wroteNah nah, we can't do the political shit in every thread man. That gets threads shut down and leads to drama.shoei wrotePenal colony stuck in the 1800s still locking down for wuHan FLU.We were all celebrating this in another thread. Just the facts...not my opinion or commentary.

scostu wroteThat would be two; AZ and HI.Yes!!!......time change is antiquated. And several US states don't observe it.

NickyC wroteIt's so true. Before it gets out of the House it'll be a 790 page bill with billions of dollars allocated to bullshit and a bunch of new taxes to pay for 1/2 of it while we borrow the other half from China. We're completely F'd.This might be the first time in decades the government has done anything for the plebs' benefit.
They'll f it up somehow, guaranteed. Before the bill passes, an "Extra daylight tax" will be tacked on for all income brackets because we need to be charged for that extra sunlight the government allows us to have.
The "ruling class" cannot be more despicable.

M_Six wroteThis is actually what is holding European countries back to get rid of DST (We call it summer- and wintertime) so far. Most of them want to do so simultaneously, because you know: 'EU' blah blah, but some countries are against it, because of the same reason as you just mentioned.Wifey and I were talking about this during our evening stroll. I think whether you hate permanent DST or love it often (but not always) depends on where in a time zone you live. We live very close to the eastern border of the Central time zone. Even with DST now, it's light by 6:30AM. And even in June, it's dark by 8:30PM (more or less). But for folks on the far west side of the Central time zone, it may not be getting light these days until 7:30AM, which is tough for folks who need to be out and about at that time. And they may have daylight until almost 10PM, which can also be a hassle.
But during standard time here in the winter, it's dark at 4:30PM, and that sucks. The light in the early morning during the winter is something I can do without. I'd rather have more daylight in the evening.
Bas_Met_Wielen wroteThat's interesting I didn't know that. So basically the people who already have mostly gloomy weather are fucking it up for the rest?M_Six wroteThis is actually what is holding European countries back to get rid of DST (We call it summer- and wintertime) so far. shoei wroteYep, they can't seem to agree on which time should be the standard. And as far as i understand, they want to avoid every country being in a different timezone, so every country for it's own seems out of the question. That's interesting I didn't know that. So basically the people who already have mostly gloomy weather are fucking it up for the rest?
