good to know they are worse in other areas than here... we get them for a few weeks or months in the summers, but I literally thought it was mostly a florida thing

So are they deafeningly loud where you live and what time of day are they making noise?

I moved to Nashville 5 years ago from the Mid-Atlantic region... I thought they were bad there... when they get going here it's a deafening screech you can't escape, mostly during the heat of the day but fairly everpresent for a few weeks

We went through the double brood bit last summer. Luckily Illinois is not on the list this time around.

I remember driving to Nashville last year, and I could hear them in the cab of my truck while I was travelling at highway speeds with the windows up and the radio on. Insanity.

Garage List
Try cutting the grass while they are out in full force! Pretty freakin annoying! Attacking my face and all over my shirt. It got so bad. I stopped cutting my grass for a month, I couldn't deal with it any longer. I was spending more time swatting them from my face and clothes than actually cutting the grass. All it takes is one mishap and BOOM, there goes my toes in the mower! lol. Wasn't willing to take that chance!
